The moody, romantic Scottish Highlands start at Loch Lomond just north of Glasgow. Comprising a slew of mountain ranges, this sparsely populated land is best seen by train on the West Highland Line. Mountains, lochs, bright heather and rhododendrons give way to white sand beaches and rugged coves as the train nears Mallaig. For a more active take on the region, hike the West Highland Way or visit the Trossachs National Park. Ben Nevis, a popular climbing spot, looms over the town of Fort William.

When we arrive Inverness, it was raining. On our way to our B&B, we stop in the middle of the bridge for photo taking because of the beautiful views despite the rain. Do take a stroll across the bridge and along River Ness at any time of the day, it's beautiful and relaxing, and most importantly, it's FREE!

We’ve been over this bridge a few times on the train and wondered where it was, and then in our trip around Inverness we stumbled across it by chance. We were visiting Culloden Moor and the Clava Cairns, so drive by and had to stop to see it. It is a very impressive structure - I always wonder how they managed to build things like this back when?! I was really happy to be able to stop and take a couple of pictures of it, too. As people say - it is just a bridge, but it’s a big one and commands the valley brilliantly!

Easy to access close to the village centre with great views and lucky enough to see it with a piper with the autumn colours in full flow.

After you’ve crossed the beautiful bridge there’s a little place to park and a big bit of green grass that has picnic tables to sit at next to some trees I’d the weather is nice enough. There’s a path you can follow that leads you to a perfect location for the ideal photo of the bridge. It’s wonderful and definitely worth the stop if you’re passing!

Regardless of how many times we visit Scotland and cross this bridge it never loses its brilliance. Even though the ferry crossing to Skye is a pleasant experience I find the bridge crossing so much nicer. Because of the virus situation, If you cross on the ferry you're not allowed out of your car when on the ferry unless you're a foot passenger. When crossing the bridge I always think of the local people that fought a long hard fight to get the toll charges removed.

This bridge is on eof the first suspension bridges built. There is parking within 2 minutes of the bridge and a plaque provides inteersting information about it. The bridge is a nice stopping off point between Fort william and fort Augustus.

Walked this bridge on a very cold and foggy day which added to the ambience of the area. One is impressed at the engineering and the beauty of this old Bridge.
