Such a nice relaxing place to taste some delicious beers. It's not too far from Mittagong town, or Bowral for that matter, with plenty of parking available, but you can walk it from the train station. The staff are so friendly and helpful on arrival, and they suggest ordering a paddle of taster beers to get a feel for their range. They do have around 10 or so beers on offer in schooner and middy sized glasses as well, and even a few takeaway beers if needed. They will also sell refillable containers if you want to take some home straight from the beer tap. There's a lovely range of beers here for all tastes, from light fruity beers to darker beers to a pilsner to a hoppy IPA, there's something for everyone. They also offer some homemade pies from the Gumnut Patisserie across the road, although you can just as easily walk over and buy any pies or pastries of your choice and bring them inside to eat.

Went here to sample some of their ales and they were very good as were the staff and the place itself

Popped in at 5pm on a Saturday, a few tables left, staff were quite friendly and helpful, I could tell they were passionate about their beers after a quick chat. Tried a fair range while I was there: two mid-range stouts, a couple of hoppy beers, a Double New England IPA which was fruity & probably my favourite, and they even had 3 different imperial stouts on tap which was impressive. They had a burger cart on site with chicken or pork or vegetarian burgers on offer, but I tried the prawn burger for something different, and surprisingly it worked well, quite tasty. Just a welcoming experience all round.

4 Pines offers internationally acclaimed award- winning beers along with a seasonal menu featuring beer friendly food. With beer being brewed most days there is always entertainment to see, hear, taste, smell and enjoy. 4 Pines has a reputation as one of the friendliest and more relaxed venues in Sydney.
We landed at 7 am after a 17-hour flight, hopped on Ocean Extreme whale watching and realized that the tour picked up people at Manly. I did not believe we could squeeze Manly into our short time in Sydney so we took the opportunity for the "free" Manly drop off after the tour. I had heard of 4 Pine's fish and chips and desperately needed them after the whale watching tour. We got to the brewery, greeted with smiles and we looked at the menu. I wanted something a bit healthier than fish and chips so we split the roasted cauliflower and the fish and chips and we are so glad we did. The fish and chips were absolutely delicious, and the cauliflower had a delicious hummus mixed aloi that was calming on my stomach after a rough boat ride. Once we had some food in our stomach we got a flight, or tasting paddle, of 5 beers. While beer is a unique taste for everyone, I won't rate the beer themselves but I enjoyed them all. We had Pacific Ale, Pale Ale, El Dorado IPA, In Season IPA and Nitro Stout. The bartenders were also great. We walked up and said "Do y'all do flights" and one walked up and said "so, if you can say y'all, can we respond with w'all do flights?". I forgot how easy it is for others to know we are from the south when we start to talk, almost the same thing happened in Canada! Overall - I'm so glad we made the time to stop here. I did not realize I would see 4 Pines on so many menus after, and I'd rather have it at the source!

Born and raised in Byron Bay, we’re proudly independent and local, brewing and bottling our approachable beer in the Northern Rivers of NSW, one of the greatest places on Earth. It's a place where people enjoy having a beer when relaxing after catching a wave, catching a band at the pub or just catching up with friends. It's that sort of place. As the local brewer, we brew beer for times like these. Drop into our tasting room for a tour and beer paddle for $35. We're open 7 days a week, with tours at 11am and 3pm weekdays, except Tuesdays. Weekend tours run at 11am and 2pm. Drop us an email if you'd like to save a spot...
S&W has a cool and relaxed vibe, much like all of Byron really... we had beer tasting paddles which were very generously poured and well worth the cost, and as a non-beer drinker normally, I was really surprised and impressed by the range of flavours and different types of beer they have and really enjoyed them. I would definitely recommend a visit, even for people who normally wouldn't do a beer or brewery tasting!
