Whether you are looking for sun-drenched beaches or outdoor activities in beautiful countryside, New Jersey has plenty to offer. Those who love the great outdoors should head for the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, which runs along the Delaware River for forty miles. Here you can go rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking or fishing, or simply admire the stunning waterfalls. There is a huge range of hiking trails to choose from as well as historic sites to visit. In winter, you can enjoy cross-country skiing near Blue Mountain Lakes, and birdwatchers might be lucky enough to catch sight of bald eagles. If you are looking for a change, visit one of New Jersey's eleven lighthouses that are open to public, such as the one in Cape May. For art and history enthusiasts, New Jersey State Museum in Trenton has historic artifacts and American fine art from the nineteenth century to the present day as well as a Planetarium.

Bowl-Rite Lane owners/employees were very friendly and cautious about protecting their customers from Covid-19: (1.) Medical Facial Masks were required, to stop any potential spread of germs; (2.) ALL Bowling Shoes, Bowling Balls, and Chairs were sprayed with anti-bacterias; (3.) Floors looked mopped and clean; and (4.) Chairs and other seating areas were covered with Yellow Caution Tape for no one to sit down unless Owner/Manager or Workers authorize customers to use them in specific bowling lanes. In addition, the food and drinks was delicious and all the workers were very nice. I plan on bringing my family back there. We had great fun bowling and laughing and playing together. Respectfully yours, Myra Lee of Cliffside Park, New Jersey

*Hours subject to change* Competitive axe throwing is a well known Canadian past time that's becoming increasingly popular in the United States. Simply put, it's like playing a game of darts, except with axes! At Bury The Hatchet you'll experience the thrill of launching an axe at a wooden target in a safe and fun environment. You and your best mates will spend two hours becoming intimate with a 1.5lb piece of whirling wood and metal as you learn, practice, and then finally square off toe-to-toe in a group tournament.
This place is crazy fun and it's BYOB and BYOF(Food)! They have plenty of large picnic tables for you to use. It is usually quite crowded and loud, so bring your patience and a few drinks! If you can find a deal on Groupon, Living Social or the like, we feel a deal makes it that much better! Once you purchase your tickets, you need to go on their Website and reserve a time slot. Just note, if you want to play by yourselves, with just your own party, in your own lane, you have to have at least 12 people in your party (it used to be only 9). You can even join a league if you have enough people. Although they do not have their own parking lot, there is plenty of metered on the street parking right in front and across the street. They have several board type games in the lobby for you to enjoy while you wait. All the staff, employees and our Axe Master were very personable, knowledgeable, informative and provided a history of axe throwing. During your game(s) your instructor keeps score on their tablet and you can see the results up on a screen. There was music constantly blaring which was quite loud. They have mini refrigerators and cubbies for you to store your stuff, they have a water cooler and you can order food and drinks from outside to this location. Highly recommended if you have never!

Great way to spend a rainy day doing the indoor activities. Then cleared up enough to play mini golf outside and ride the swing ride. Too chilly for water park perhaps try that on a future trip on a warmer, sunnier day.
