Great little easy walk, super wide and well maintained path. I walked to here on my way to Snug Harbour and was happy with how scenic it was.

Hiking the Trout River Pond trail at Gros Morne will take you through the gamut of ecosystems and scenery the park has to offer. You'll find yourself wading through creeks (waterproof hiking boots HIGHLY recommended for this one), up through the forest and then along the backside of the Tablelands until you get to where you can see the walls of a fresh water fjord. Allow a full day to take it all in.

This has got to be one of the most beautiful places on this earth. Where else can you see a lighthouse, walk the trails, enjoy the beauty of the rugged coast and see whales. Icebergs too in the spring. You are also near a great gift shop, the Great Viking Feast in a sod hut, and an excellent restaurant. Something for everybody.

Have always loved the peaceful easy feeling of this park and its location across from the Newfoundland National War Memorial harking back to an era when Newfoundland was a nation before Canada joined it. Recently it dawned on me that Harbourside Park is where Sir Humphrey Gilbert laid the Cornerstone of the British Empire in 1538. I learned this thanks to the Hop On - Hop Off Tour Service that operates close by adjacent to Raymond’s Restaurant.
