It is just one of those sites that is worth visiting, not only for itself but also for the journey there, to really understand the landscape. And to see how over the millennia this river has carved a deep valley in this landscape, the same on both sides of the river, and also how tiny it must be today compared to the days before the dams . the whole valley must once have been filled with a roaring stream of water. We were lucky to see int at the end of two intense raining weeks, with a lot more raring water than the average visitor and completely different scenery than the other pictures posted here.

The Lagoa de Santo André is totally separated from the ocean, except once a year in March for the renewal of the water. It is confortable to swim and even in August, this place is not crowded.

Very nice place, mountain and sea, Sado River and its dalphins! We can enjoy sun, but also the peace of such beautiful places or cross the river to Trois beach. Restaurants have good fresh fish.
Directly managed by the Crown, the Complexo Real Vale do Zebro was composed by 27 biscuit ovens, wheat warehouses, boarding deck and a tidal mill with 8 grinders- the biggest one on the region- also by a vast surrounding area of pine forest, explored directly by the Crown. After the 1755 earthquake, Vale do Zebro facilities where quite altered. The building belongs to the Marinha Portuguesa.
