While vacationing in Cancun my wife and I decided to go see the Chichen Temple. We wanted to arrive early for the tour refreshed so we drove into town without a reservation the night before. However these were last minute plans and we decided to wing it without a reservation. When we arrived into town we asked a policeman for his recommendation for a room. He said the Casa Luna would be a nice place to go. That would turn out to an excellent suggestion. We just wanted a clean room , comfortable bed with clean sheets and towels. This place really exceeded our expectations! The front desk was nice and helpful. The room was clean with big white soft towels, newer clean sheets and pillow cases ( no smells). We felt like we were actually guest and not a customer. And the price was excellent! Also, it was a very secure place. We slept well and were the first in line at 7:30 to receive our tickets at the park and had a wonderful time touring about the temple site.

Whether for business or pleasure, alone or with family, Hotel Boutique Casa Quetzal he looks great facilities in the historic center of the magical town of Valladolid, Yucatan. Since our opening in 2006 we have distinguished ourselves by providing an atmosphere of total tranquility in a Mexican colonial style building framed with large gardens and terraces. The spaces are decorated using Mexican folk art objects, which provides our hotel a regional touch. The undeniable charm of Casa Quetzal will always do their first choice in this colonial destination.
I stayed here with my boyfriend in March of 2022 and we loved it! I felt like this was the perfect location to explore the city but be in a quiet area at night. We had a large room and really enjoyed using the hammock provided. The shower pressure and temperature were wonderful. The breakfast was fantastic and all of the staff we interacted with were professional and very polite. We also really enjoyed lounging in the area around the pool. We parked our car in the lot provided by the hotel and had no issues. The wifi worked well. I wish I back at this hotel right now.

This is a beautiful little hotel. The courtyard is gorgeous and our balcony was next to a beautiful Mango tree. We were there during a downpour so there was a leak in the light coming from the ceiling but other than that it was perfect. It’s a perfect overnighter to go visit Chichen Itza. We would actually come back just to stay here for a visit again to Valladolid.

First thematic Hotel in Valladolid (Colonial City and Magic Town). Built in a colonial house from the late 18th century. Casa Hipil is located just two streets away from the Historical Center and in a short distance from the principal attractions and services that the City offers. Framed in a romantic atmosphere within a family environment, we offer modern and comfortable facilities.
My husband and I stayed at the Casa Hipil in Feb 2022 and it was a great vacation. The staff was so helpful and kind, they answered all our questions. The room was quiet and comfortable and it is in a perfect location right downtown. Valladolid is a beautiful city and it was easy to explore while staying at Casa Hipil.

When we first arrived to Merida from the airport, I was not super impressed with the outside of the hotel...However, the inside of the hotel and the rooms are lovely. As others have said, the courtyard is beautiful, and the breakfasts were so enjoyable. The bar wasnt open during the week in April that we were there, but they would get us a beer if we needed one, so maybe bring a bottle of wine if you want to enjoy a beverage in the evening. Also, I would recommend bringing a bag of Nespresso pods, as they only give you 2 for free and you have to ask for and pay for more, which is annoying when you want to enjoy a few cups of coffee in the morning on your own. Walking to the city center was quick and safe, about 4 blocks away.

The name of the Hotel doesn't give you high expectations, but the name is the only thing not attractive at this hotel. We stayed in a suite and WOW! incredible spacious, high ceilings, impeccably clean. The decoration of the hotel is beautiful, Mexican hacienda style. Great pool to have a relaxing break from Yucatan's hot weather. It's not close to downtown, but nothing a taxi can resolve.

This hotel has some quirks! The keycard needs to be activated daily because it deactivates itself. The open plan of the hotel makes it wet on a rainy day to walk to your room, slippery tiles everywhere. The next door (hotel)restaurant has live music which is very noisy and makes sleeping early impossible. But the rooms are ok. The shower is good, the wifi is fine. Parking is in a public parking behind the hotel, close to the restaurant entrance. Upon check-in we had a misunderstanding about the price, we booked through booking and they wanted us to pay more than the bill of booking stated, we arrived soaked wet (we ride motorbikes and got caught in the rain) check-in took forever due to the bill argument and misunderstanding, and it had to be sorted out before we could take a shower and get ourselves into dry clothes. We just stood there waiting and waiting while dripping water........Not my kind of hotel. A bit overpriced and the staff is far from friendly. The COVID rules apply but really I would not trust them with my health. We cleaned doorknobs, light switches, they do not overly clean so to speak.

The way this hotel treated us is a DISGRACE! It happened today as I write this review. We are a family with two 4 years old children. We had booked one night from February 26-27, which was charged to us by the Hotels.com booking site. During the check in, the manager tells us that she has not been paid and asks us for payment, which we refuse by showing her our account statement with the amount debited. And there, amazement, she refuses us access to our room! Without hesitation, if we don't want to pay, we have to leave with our two 4-years-old children!! It was 5 pm.... and we had to find a hotel room! There was no question of paying twice for this hotel! We had never experienced this before and yet we travel a lot. The least of things would have been to accept us and then see with the booking site to be paid. Especially since on our side, we had been debited... If you don't want to live the same misadventure, don't book the Hotel Macanche in Izamal. I'm still angry as I write this review... I can't believe we got kicked out of a hotel we paid for! This is simply UNACCEPTABLE and INEXCUSABLE.
