1st day was checked in by a girl( tomboy) & a big size man. Wasn’t greeted by them. No smiling face & toned of voice not pleasant. Location is fantastic. Cleanliness is good but toilet not regularly checked or clean after used by customers. My bedroom is single occupancy. Very small but got privacy . Only 1 miserable pillow given . Good facilities with hot water, chiller, coffee etc. Brushing teeth on sink has got no hot water. If you’re budgeted traveller it’s a good place.

Situated at a not-so-dodgy part of the town, but it got dodgier once you step foot into the lift lobby. Located at the 4th floor of a 9-floor building - shared among one (maybe two) other presumably a walk-in/day-hotel - you are greeted with a receptionist counter, gloomy lights and potpourri at the small lounge. The room is tight for our liking and was clean on the first look, but on closer inspection... 1. The flask has noticeable condensation at the lid and few mm of water at the bottom. 2. Cups come with kisses. There are lipstick marks on it. Too faint to tell the gender. 3. There are pen markings on the bed sheet and comforter. 4. Holes not just on the wrapping of the soap, but the soap itself. Seems intentional from previous customers. 5. Stray ants on the TV rack. They come at random times. With or without food. Room cleaning upon informing the staffs at the reception only, and by 5pm. Which we did after our 2nd day at 4pm. Unfortunately, the cleaning lady has left for the day. We came back the next day to inform again before we head out for lunch. Went back to find out the receptionist forgot to tell the cleaning lady. We had to wait close to half an hour at the potpourri scented lounge for the room to be cleaned. On one cleaning occasion, the lady forgot to put in the plastic bag for the trash, and we have to do it ourselves without discounted price, or salary. If Japanese AV porn is your thing, the hotel gives the pleasure of 10 adult channels to feed your fetishes. But only 2 are viewable. Staffs are friendly, but non English speaking, and the hotel is within non-tiring walkable distance from the shopping district and convenience stores.

Go Sleep Hotel Ximen Hankou Branch is located in Ximending Shopping Area, near Ximen MRT station, a popular recommended Ximen hotel.
Hotel is okay for the price. It doesn't look like a hotel from the outside and there's girly bar at the 2nd floor? Room is clean but dark as there are no windows and the carpet and wallpaper were both dark. Comfort room was clean and new but towels were old and thin. Bed was big and blankets were comfortable. Check in is really at 3pm but you can leave your luggage with them. It is quite a walk from the Ximending station so what you save from your accommodation, you pay for the airport transfers which was at 1.5k and 1k NT for both ways. Would be better to just book a hotel closer to the MRT station if you want to commute to and from the airport. Location was good. There are a lot of food choices nearby, a good coffeeshop, 7-11 and family mart . Walking distance to the Ximending night market. Overall okay if you aren't too picky with hotels and just need a place to sleep.

Second stay here again after a few years. Now, they have an elevator!! Again, I took the single loft room, room was small, squeezy but nice and cosy. Toilets were relatively clean. Location was fantastic, you are able to walk to almost everywhere in ximending. Everything was just as nice as I remembered from a few years back (now with the elevator, another plus!) will stay again!

The hostel is located in downtown Ximending, with a 5-minute walk from Ximen MRT station. Ximending is a popular gathering place for young people in Taiwan, which has become the core of Taiwan’s fashion and subculture. With over 6,000 shops and stores around, including clothing, restaurants, coffee shops, beverages, massage, tattoo stores, KTVs, and 10 movie theaters concentrating on the movie street, you can arrange various activities in Ximending, from day to night. Also, singers usually have their mini-concerts or new album release concerts in Ximending; street performers and the many bars enrich the night life of Ximending. All rooms in “Next Stop, Taipei” are equipped with sheets, reading lamps, multiple plugs, wi-fi and air-conditioning. At the most economic price, we fulfill your need of a basic yet tasteful space, offering a comfortable and relaxed accommodation that is enjoyable. Moreover, to make efficient utilization of urban space, the hostel simplifies interior decoration and adopts public shower. With environment-friendly concept in mind, we encourage our guests to bring their own toiletries.Upholding the passion and friendliness of Taiwanese people, we treat and take care of every guest as our family, and we’re more than willing to share the featured culture and natural landscapes in the cities of Taiwan with you. Furthermore, your safety and comfort are our top priorities. With 24-hour front desk service and the security system, we make sure you have a safe stay.
Friendly, helpful staff. I lodged 11 nights here, would do so again. Location is excellent, but a little hard to find the nondescript hostel entrance (see photo). Appreciated the comp coffee/tea/toast, but at least one morning, the coffee machine was not operating from 7:30-8:00 a.m., and there was no one staffing Reception. A coupe recommendations: Generally very nice facilities at NEXT but the Men’s Restroom on the top floor suffers from poor construction and needs to be fixed. The toilet/shower stalls are adjacent to each other and were poorly built so that water from the adjacent shower now floods the floor in the adjacent toilets. Also please post signs and tell guests checking in: ‘Do NOT Make/Take Cell Phone Calls in Dorms.’ Too many hostel mates were doing this and it adds a Real Suck Factor to the Dorm.

Stayed here in November for my birthday weekend with my friend. It's literally tucked within the alleys of Ximending, BUT, once you find it, you'd realize it has the best location, literally just street crossing and a few steps away from The Red House. (Let me help people here by saying that you should get off The Red House at the back exit along Xining Road, find the Birkenstock store and go through the alley right beside it, and then turn right and voilah. Turns out, this is the easiest way.) It took time for us though to really find it - which was difficult late at night and with no English-speaking people around. But once we did, it's a breeze from there and you'd realize why it's one of the best value bookings in Ximending. The room we had was small, but comfortable enough, and it was cleaned daily as we requested. The reception desk is 24 hours which we appreciated since we arrived after midnight. Suffice to say, I'd stay here again if I ever go back to Taipei! :)

Mango53 Inn is a good budget accommodation for first-time travelers in Taipei, Taiwan. It is very near Longsham Temple Station which is just 2 stations away from Taipei Main Station. Room is clean (booked for a family room with private toilet/bathroom), big enough for 4-5 persons. Bed sheets are clean. Our room has 1 double-deck bunk bed and a big mattress on the floor good for 2 pax. Each bed has own light switch/reading lamp-style. Bath towels can be rented for a small fee but there are small towels provided for free which will serve the same purpose if you are not choosy. Bathroom amenities are provided like toilet paper, shampoo and shower gel (on the dispenser) and hand soap on the sink. No toothbrush, no toothpaste so bring your own. We were quite early and check in is 3pm. The reception staff was not there when we arrived (doing errand in a nearby bank) but there is a note and a contact number was provided. We called that number and after about 20-30 minutes, staff returned. Our room is still occupied so we just left our bags/luggages in the small reception area. We were given our key/passcode for the main door and also for our room. When we returned, our bags is already inside our room. Shoes are not allowed upstairs. There's a shoe rack for your shoes and house slippers are provided in the reception area. The entrance of the inn is a very narrow stairs so go up one by one. Above the stairs serves as the reception area. There's a common bathroom/toilet for the guests beside the reception desk. Reception staff is a nice guy. You can ask him for directions. On checkout day, reception staff is again not present so we called the contact number and we were just told to leave our key on the mailbox which we did. If you are looking for 3-5 stars accommodation then this is not for you. First impression of the inn and the place, may disappoint you but for those who are budget-conscious or backpack travelers who just want a safe, clean place to stay with good location then Mango53 Inn is a good place to stay. PROS: Very good, fast free WIFI CONS: No breakfast but there is free instant coffee on the fourth floor. Dining inside the room is not allowed. DIRECTION FROM AIRPORT TO MANGO53 INN: Upon arrival at Taiwan airport, instead of booking for a private airport transfer, my group (consisting of 4 people) decided a D.I.Y. travel. So from Terminal 1, we took the AIRPORT EXPRESS train (not the commuter train) to TAIPEI MAIN STATION... then transfer to Bannan Line (BL) or blue line to LONGSHAM TEMPLE STATION. From exiting the train we took the stairs to our right and proceed to exit then we turned left and walked to hotel. We concentrated on the numbers of the building and when we reached No. "53" we reached MANGO53. CHECKOUT and AIRPORT TRANSFER: Our flight is scheduled on the wee hours of the next day so we just left our bags/luggages on the TAIPEI MAIN STATION locker area. Only coins are accepted as payment, you just need to insert coins and follow instruction. The fee is NT20 per hour. Make sure you keep the receipt with you. When it's time to go to airport, we went back to TAIPEI MAIN STATION, paid the amount (inserted the correct amount of coins) for locker rental. With our luggage we went to airport using AIRPORT EXPRESS and sleep/rest on airport couches while waiting for check-in counter to open and boarding time.

Lane to life never disappoints!! It is very near to Ximen Night Market (1-2 minutes walk). The room is big enough. There is no elevator but the room is very comfortable. I will definitely go back. Love this place

The location is good. 15 min walk to the night markets. Showers are hot and clean. Towels, tooth brush, tooth paste and slippers are provided. The capsule itself is good. Nothing crazy to expect. You try the capsule for the experience (one night) not because it's the best accomodation. In my opinion you can't really get a good sleep in a capsule as it's very noisy. You can hear everything in your neighbour's capsules. Also, our capsules were right beside the window (which we needed to keep open because the AC wasnt working), but the building is facing the street, so all night long it was very noisy. There was some stains on the pillows, blankets and towels. It is too expensive for what it is, but being in Asia you have to try this once. But no need to do so for more then one night.

Flower Inn is located on the outer ring of the main Ximending entertainment and business district, about 8 to 10 minutes' walk from the MRT Ximen station, near to the movie street, Watsons store and other shopping and entertainment outlets. The rooms may be simplistically decorated but they are cozy, guest will feel at home staying at the property. Guest may also relax at the rooftop garden of this property. The property provides complimentary WIFI access in its rooms and within its premises.Note : Payment to the property will be through PayPal or cash (3% off). The property will contact you on how to proceed with payment after check in.
The room is cozy and neat, takes no time to walk to ximending movie alley. Just have to go through the massage entrance twice, check in and check out, the other time you can enter from a different entrance, enough privacy and convenient.
