This was now our fourth time to the pebble beached sleepy town of Tulamben. As per usual we travel with two growing boys (now 6 & 4) and this time around we dragged their Auntie all for the ride. Our previous 3 trips we stayed at Scuba Seraya and we highly recommend that resort, but we thought we would try something new and stay in town and close to the wreck. After lots of review trawling I ended up at Ocean View Tulamben or OVT from now on. There are tons of good reviews for Liberty Dive Resort and I'm sure it's great BUT they are up the road from the "beach" immediately behind OVT and personally I like staying where I can actually see the sea. Yes the view is restricted from the resort restaurant but at least there is a direct view and you are literally on the rocks. We stayed in the more budget rooms at the top end of the resort in front of the top pool. The rooms are HUGE and clean. And even have a bath all for a bargain price of USD52 per night!! The AC worked great and the staff are helpful. The bungalows down below are really pretty and If I were travelling sans kids I would definitely go for the. BUT when you need 2 rooms the extra cost was a tad much. The bottom pool and restaurant area are really pretty. And we ended up spending much of our time down here. The younger one loved the shallow plunge pool at the bottom. Food at the restaurant was on the whole not bad, some meals definitely better than others. With two very busy kids with dietary restrictions we really do not bother exploring for food! We get the kitchen staff accustomed to what we need and then just stick to it. To their credit the kitchen staff we very accommodating! The only real issue was that they had an extremely limited booze selection!! My wife loves a cocktail to celebrate the sunset but they basically had nothing!! They did have cold Bintang's so I was fine! One of the main reasons for staying in Tulamben was so that I could take my eldest out snorkeling to the wreck. And man did he love it!! He is so comfortable in the water, a true fish! The wreck is a 50m walk down the rocky beach and then about 100m swim out. On to the diving. Firstly the dive team at OVT are extremely easy going and at your service, we dived when we wanted, how we wanted. We had our own guide and often two of them! They were good spotters, but possibly a tad enthusiastic with the critters and I needed to dial him down a little. You travel out to the dive sites by truck and then either kit up on the rocks and stumble in or they will bring your gear into the water and you can kit up in the shallows...still stumbling around! So this brings me back to my initial question "To back roll or to stumble?". I can honestly say that next time I will likely head back to Scuba Seraya! The hassle of stumbling over those rocks and in the shallows gets old quick!! At Seraya you cruise up to the dive spot and just back roll from the boat! Much more civilized! All in all we had a good time here and would happily recommend it.

Enjoy the best days of the year in one of 5 luxury bungalows with mini-bar, safety box, air-conditioned bedroom, partially roofed bathroom with whirlpool, shower and toilet. Open, covered living room with relaxing couches and dining table. Listen to the romantic morning or evening mood, with a view from your bed, terrace or restaurant, over the deserted beach towards the open, calm sea (without jet ski)admire, when diving or snorkelling, the unique underwater world at the house reef or the 60m distant wreck (U.S.S. Liberty) or the drop-off. A local diving centre will fulfil all of your wishes, no matter if you are a beginner or a professional diver. Similarly, the resort staff will take care of you in a very personal manner. Ranging from the personal pick up at the airport, to your choice of breakfast and other meals as well as the accompaniment to cultural and other attractions. We want you to have memorable and wonderful holidays.
Toyabali is a very nice small resort. Private bungalows a very short walk through the lush garden from the main house. Very beautiful pool. It is a short walk across some rocks to get to the main dive site if you go via the shore. Long walk if you go up to the road and then back down. Short walk to the aqua dive shop. The resort can do airport transfers for a good rate as it is a long way from the airport. This is not a big all inclusive kid madness resort. It is a quiet nice, clean friendly small bungalow type resort. Quiet and relaxing with a short walk to excellent dive sites. I would stay again.

Bluehill Resort is a small boutique hotel and dive resort at the southern end of Tulamben. Every guest room opens to a sweeping picturesque scene that stretches far into the distance mountains of Agung and Seraya. A spacious tropical garden dotted with Balinese gazebos and a water garden offer a unique holiday experience that is affordable. Our dive center has experienced and knowledgeable dive staff ready to show you the amazing underwater world of north Bali. With our friendly staff, you won't find a more enjoyable stay and great diving holiday than with us.
We stayed for one night and we found this accommodation is fabulous. The room was very clean and neat, however the bathroom was a bit difficult to use. They have a bath tub, but when we used it, it ran out of hot water. We use shower instead however it splashed everywhere. It was unfortunate that the restaurant is closed. There is no where near we could find a food for dinner. We have to drive 8km to find a small fried chicken stall and there is nothing else.

Minabali Bunga'lo is located 100 meters from the beach at Tulamben, and will satisfy all lovers of diving or snorkeling with one of the most beautiful site in the world. Far from the hustle and the bustle, Minabali Bunga'lo consists of three pavilions, their alang alang roofs and Balinese style architecture meet. The pool in the middle of an exotic garden, you will relax with a massage, or a glass of fresh juice.
Best place I've stayed in Tulamben! Other than it being far away from the mainroad (for dinners etc), this is the most beautiful and yet worth for money place I've ever stayed in Tulamben. The staffs are ever genuine and kind and go out of their way to help you out in whatever you need (as long as you ask nicely of course). The only thing I hope will change is to add more street lights so people can walk at night on the way back into the resort. Keep up the great job!

This is the third time we have stayed here. It’s a friendly, clean group of villas. Breakfasts are freshly made and delicious. The pool is small but nice. We will definitely stay again. We have stayed in the normal rooms, and the family room at the end. The only room I don’t like is the one with the upstairs bedroom and the lower level looks like a cheap lobby

We stayed at Villa. Room very comfy, well decorated, employees always ready and with a great smile on their faces. Nice and good to stay. Good food, amazing view at pool and their restaurant! Make us uncomfortable, mosquitos in the room, and curtain isn’t enough to make room darker (unless u ok to awake at 6 am). Anyway, still had a great time there.

This family-run resort is quietly located just behind the dive center, within walking distance of the dive sites. It offers 10 bungalows, a restaurant and a large pool integrated in a beautiful garden. All bungalows have air conditioning, hot water and Wi-Fi access. The garden is laid out with love and gives the resort the tropical, flair you expect in Bali. With the unique view of the volcano Agung it makes an ideal base for your holiday in Bali
They have pretty big room.. dive center little bit far from beach (around 3 minutes walk from coral garden and 10 minutes walk to USAT Liberty wreck).. food from their restaurant is really good! Price also pretty cheap..
