Famed for winter skiing and summer hiking and climbing opportunities, the Dolomites are a section of the Alps in northeastern Italy, running roughly from Pieve di Cadore in the east to the Adige River in the west. Marmolada, just east of Trento, is the highest peak, at nearly 11,000 feet. The dramatic and craggy mountains are famed for their unique colors, which are the result of their partial formations as undersea coral colonies before being pushed upward millions of years ago.

This is a small, modern and tastefully-designed hotel with a staff that is uniformly cheerful and helpful. It's located right next to the lift to the Pera ski area, and a short drive to Buffuare. Skiing elsewhere will involve a longer drive. It's on the main road in Bal di Fassa, which is good because Pera is not a big place, and you will find yourself driving out to rent equipment, to dine and to ski. Our room was rather small, but spic and span. Bed linens were a fitted sheet, plus a duvet inside a sheet. I would have preferred a flat sheet as well. One day out of four, the staff forgot to leave towels in the room, and we had to get them ourselves. Although I didn't see it listed on Trip Advisor, the hotel has a hot tub, a steam room and a sauna. (Never travel without a bathing suit!) Unfortunately, these musty be booked in advance (due to COVID-19?), and only one party at a time can reserve. My advice is reserve early for the length of your stay if you don't want to be tubbing at 9PM. The restaurant has a great breakfast. At dinner, its aspirations greater than its execution, but the price for the four course menu is reasonable. The hotel provides ski lockers, although we discovered at checkout there was a charge of EUR 2 per day for their use.

We would like to say grazie mille to our wonderful hosts for giving us a fantastic 4 night stay in this amazing hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful considering English is not their first language. Food was incredible, in particular the cheese and local beer. Breakfast was perfect, lots to choose from and the best scrambled eggs and coffee in the world. The room was very nice and decorated beautifully. Ski buses ran 3 times in the morning to Cavalese and then a quick change to get to Pampeago. It's a short walk up to Cavalese from the hotel but our hostess was so kind and drove us into the town so we could have a drink and even offered to pick us up. They were so chatty also and wanted us to have the best time. We had the best time ever.

Welcome to Garni Diamant, the ideal ambience to spend a pleasant vacation in San Vigilio. Garni Diamant is situated in the village centre, at just 500m from the first ski lifts and at only 2km from the Nature Park Fanes-Senes-Braies. Our house was built in 1972 by my father personally. In 1978 it was expanded and then regularly restructured in order to make it suit all necessary requirements.
We loved everything about the hotel - the apartment was spacious and comfortable and had a very large terrace with a view on the slopes. The breakfast buffet is delicious and there is a bakery just on the opposite side of the street. There is also a supermarket within a 10min walk and a skibus stop almost directly in front. We absolutely loved the wellness area, with saunas and a large swimming pool and fitness area. Overall we had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this hotel for a fantastic ski holiday!

We had a great week with Doriana and Matteo. They have great breakfasts and dinners. The accommodation is modern and well maintained. Sometimes it was a bit too warm, but we could open the windows. Its a 15 mins drive from every ski elevator in Madonna di Campiglio.

Hotel Col di Lana is located in the heart of the Dolomites at 2239 mt at Passo Pordoi above Canazei and Arabba In winter directly on the ski slopes and few steps from the panoramic Passo Pordoi cableway. Offers confort rooms with bathroom, sat Tv and wi fi, bar and restaurant with home made dishes.
Hotel Col di Lana impressed on every level. Besides the outstanding views, the staff were very helpful and accommodating, room spacious, warm and nicely-furnished, breakfast and dinner both strong and varied. The only reason this hotel is 2-star is the lack of an elevator, which really makes one question hotel rating systems!

Our family's bad experience with this hotel started beginning of March 2020 when we had our one week booked vacation at Debra Park Hotel. Due to the seriousness and aggravated situation Northen Italy was at the beginning of the Covid19 pandemics we decided that we won't put our family at risk. We gave Cinthia a call we explained the situation: that we are worried about our health, the restrictions at work returning from Italy- the epicentre of the Coronavirus pandemic that time was 2 weeks quarantine ( 2 weeks unpaid leave staying at home, since I can not work from home, the same thing with the kids- 2 weeks staying at home and not being able to go to school). We kindly asked her to keep the deposit for next year. Initially, she agreed on the phone that she can transfer half of the deposit for the next year vacation. Soon after, emails ware coming saying that this media hysteria around the novel Coronavirus is not real, the situation is under control and no one is sick and "there is no real danger, only a virtual one "(talking about the media). She told us that if we decide not to come we'll lose all the amount of the deposit. The facts on the Italian Ministry of Health site of the current situation, statistics about people infected/ deaths by region was stating quite the opposite. It was obvious that she is lying! Some more phone calls and emails exchanges followed with the same outcome. She never returned the deposit or agreed to keep at least half of it for next year. She consciously misled us with untruthful information putting our family health at risk. Soon after the borders closed and so the winter ski resorts. We are glad that we made the decision of not going, seeing how serious the situation became. Passing the borders of 4 countries by car with 2 small kids, border controls, temperature checks, delays and so on. It would've been a nightmare let say one of us to catch the flu or have a fever!

We wanted to start this review by reflecting on a recent stay at a hotel in Eraclea, Italy, labeled as a 4 star hotel. We were asked by the Manager at the reception to write a review, which we did. It has to be said it was fair but not complimentary and at check out the manager asked if we would discuss it with her which we did . We were candid but said that we thought the hotel was only really a 2 star based mainly on the level of service and quality of food, to which the management said … “that’s your opinion .“ By comparison if we were asked to define a 5 star hotel we would simply say …spend as much time as you can at the Hotel Ciampedie in Vigo Di Fassa. We usually measure our experiences at differing stages during a holiday … first impressions , room cleanliness, food quality , service, facilities etc First impressions …the hotel is beautiful from the moment you step in side, a warm welcome from the reception ladies , help with bags and a welcome drink in the lounge before being shown to your own reserved car parking space in the lower level garage with easy access to the room Room … modern mountain style suite, nice balcony with gorgeous mountain views, shower great , a separate room for our daughter with bunk beds ( lounge on top and sleeping below was her view ), pillows comfortable and super comfy bed…plus some small extra: towels for the spa, fluffy dressing gowns for the pool (even for our daughter!) and a back pack for walking. The restaurant ….. lets start with the team, led by the inimitable Francesco. Every meal was a gem with his service , smile and entertaining stories …. The restaurant whether at breakfast or dinner is flawless and under his guidance works like a Swiss watch. It’s clear that the hotel owners have built a team that pride them selves on their experience and professionalism. Breakfast is a myriad of tastes …. You name it they have it from fresh squeezed juices to prosciutto, eggs as you like them , fresh pastries its enough to stock up before a day hiking in the Dolomites or skiing in the winter. Dinner is a refined affair, with perfect cocktails from Paolo who manages the bar and Francesco who overseas a menu of either a gourmet tasting, a vegetarian or an al a carte option … and if you want to mix and match well then that’s fine as well …. To Francesco service is EVERYTHING! To the activities …. Spa is lovely , hot stone massage by Marie and Andrea and a indoor / outdoor pool with jacuzzi soothed the aching limbs after a days hiking with Nicolo, The hotel’s in house mountain guide was super… we were led up and down mountain passes over 10k each day in absolute safety with anecdotes and information on flora and fauna that made the 10k seem somewhat easy ( well on reflection the uphill was definitely more of a challenge ) but the views and breathtaking scenery matched with they amazing food in the mountain huts made the days really something to remember … more goulash soup and less Grappa helps the walking we found .We will return for his ski lessons in the winter. We think we have been to enough hotels to have an opinion on what is a 2 or a 5 star hotel …… at the Ciampedie if we could give it 6 stars we would and will definitely return. We should mention that in these trying times the hotel copied admirably with the Covid precautions … everything was done safely and cleanly and with a patience that should be applauded and they even booked our PCR testing locally so we could get the results in time for our flight. Be warned though an Italian PCR test is outrageously expensive compared with Dubai costs Thank you to Francesco, Nicolo, Paolo and all the team for making this part of our Italian 2021 holiday truly memorable … we hope its not long before we are back in Vall Di Fassa and this time with skis on !
