We had an overnight stay in Townsville before a trip to Magnetic Island the next day. We arrived at the premises late and checked into the very comfortable room. The whole place had a nice feel about it. Russel is a good host and presented us with an excellent breakfast on the patio the next morning. It was a short walk for us to catch a meal after settling in at the Hog's Steakhouse.

Yongala Lodge is situated just metres from Townsville's Strand - the city's most well known and well loved icon. Built in 1884. Guests have a choice of self-contained units or motel style accommodation, with all modern facilities to ensure you have a comfortable stay.
We stumbled across this wonderful lodge after having our original booking stuffed up for a booking elsewhere. We had driven ten hours with our pet dog in tow and were feeling stranded; this was until checking in at Yongala where we were treated like family and taken very good care of. Our frustrations quickly melted as all efforts were made by Yongala to accommodate us and ensure we had everything needed for a comfortable stay. After checking in and walking all of one minute to the Strand we started to feel like we were only holiday again. We were so grateful for feeling so well looked after. The room was clean, shower pressure excellent and we all slept soundly. Thanks Yongala for rescuing our holiday!

Our daughter who suffers from severe mental health problems recently stayed at the Cedar Lodge Motel. She was involved in an unfortunate incident there and Daryl displayed an enormous amount of understanding and compassion towards her. He looked after her phone and other belongings and treated her with great respect. Thank you to the two “gentlemen” owners who took care of her. Our family really appreciate your care.

We were a family of 6 and had dinner at Upper Ross Hotel in June. The quality of the meals were fabulous. The steak especially, cooked to perfection, great quality and a Diane sauce to die for. We were in the area visiting family and our kids are still asking months later to return. The staff were really friendly and efficent, made for a great relaxed and good quality evening. Thanks to the kitchen and Service team, we will be back when next in the neighbourhood.

Located on the corner of Flinders Street & Blackwood Street, this newly renovated hotel is a fabulous option for a Townsville CBD stay. The rooms have been carefully renovated to a high standard and there are sweeping verandas, beautiful wooden floors and a basic kitchenette in the common area. We chose to stay in a ensuite double room with air conditioning and it was clean, spacious and comfortable. The verandas were perfect for afternoon drinks and breakfast!! Richard, the on-site manager, was super friendly and hospitable and gave us a tour of the hotel bars and restaurants which are still undergoing renovation. This is like staying in old-fashioned pub accommodation but with modern amenities. It’s great value and highly recommended!

We stayed for 2 nights in room 19. It was in the second row from the road and had no road noise. The shower was good. We had our own wifi so can’t comment on the wifi on offer. Netflix was included. The fridge has a little freezer. The unit had tea/ coffee 2 bowls and 2 plates. It was close to a pub across the road, 5 min walk. The bed was comfy and the ac worked well. There were a number of other travellers here and families as well. I think the pool has been filled in but the bbq area is still there although We didn’t use it. Checkin was easy.
