Surrounded by one of Germany's largest wine-growing regions, Stuttgart beckons cultural junkies with its acclaimed ballet, opera and philharmonic, while auto fans get revved up over the Mercedes Benz Museum. There's more green space than urban sprawl in the festival-friendly city, home to Europe's largest zoo and botanic garden combo, the Wilhelma. The WÂrttembergisches Landesmuseum, in one of the city's oldest structures, traces area history from the Stone Age. Buses or subway provide handy transport.

In the state capital Stuttgart we build another mk|hotel for you which will open in September 2013. In Bad Canstatt, the oldest district of Stuttgart, you will find everything you need. From the automotive trade to the second largest mineral water deposits in Europe, from Canstatter Wasen to the German football league team. Working and enjoying the leisure time - our mk|hotel is the ideal starting point!
Not a lot of frills but front desk speaks English. They have breakfast which is good. Internet is slow. Ample parking in back for guests (for a few). Housekeeping a little noisy during service so if you jet lagged and need a nap, that could be a problem. Everything worked as it should. Good quality linens. Location is in older section of the city and nearby grocery and a few restaurants none of which are remarkable.

We got to the hotel after a long day travelling. Asked the guy at reception how much for the bed and breakfast, and were told 100 euros, but without breakfast, and an extra 18 euros for 2 breakfasts. TripAdvisor clearly says the 100 euros is with breakfast. It was late, and we were tired, so we stayed. The breakfast buffet was a disappointment. Very small with only a few small portions. The guys before us took most of the cold meats, so I waited a good 15 minutes to see if any more cold meats were coming, but no luck. Try somewhere else.

Warm welcome to the Kulinarium an der Glems 1926 built as Kurhaus, afterwards modified to a hotel which is in the near of the one and only historical Solitude formular 1 race course of Stuttgart. Today it belongs to a family which keep it lovely with a restaurant and a hotel. The dishes are delicious in our a la carte restaurant “Jagerstube”, you can also make a function in our unique function rooms “Saal Solitude”, “Weißer Salon” or “Waldblick”. In summer time you can sit outside in front of the magnificent backdrop of nature under high and big chestnut trees where you can relax. We can also welcome to you in our hotel with modernised rooms in different sizes. It would be nice, when you also visit sister hotel Romerhof in Vaihingen. If you make a function in your own four walls, it would be a pleasure for us to plan it for you and perform it. All of this and the heartiness as host you get from us. When you have questions, you can ask our team. Your Kulinarium Team
BF and I stayed here en route to the Mercedes Benz museum, and it was a very short but sweet stay. We arrived late and were accommodated for dinner quickly which was nice. We had authentic schnitzel which was lovely but there was quite a large language barrier. The food was very nice but took 20 minutes to get our bill so we could leave. (We'd driven from Switzerland, so were tired and just wanted to get to bed!) The apartment was very nice. Very dated, but has everything you could want. A nice little kitchen area with a stove top, fridge, kettle, etc. Our bed was quite uncomfortable and a few extra pillows would have been nice. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of options. The grounds are very nice with plenty of woodlands and a nice playground and we liked saying hello to the goats! I imagine children would be very happy here. Great car parking. Check out was a breeze, but we booked through booking and our payment hadn't gone through till we checked out. Not really sure whose fault this is but just keep that in mind as we honestly did believe we had already paid for it. The receptionist explained that they don't take payment from the website until the guest checks out. Good thing the BF had a credit card! Overall a good stay but should we ever return to Stuttgart, we'd stay somewhere else.

My brother booked a twin bedded room and our reservation was messed up by the hotel. Their remedy was to offer us a second room for free. I took the attic room which did not have an en-suite bathroom and had a low ceiling. It was clean enough and the bed was OK. The TV only had German language channels and the WiFi wasn't reliable. No dining or breakfast in the hotel, but there was a friendly pub a short walk away. There is no parking on the premises, but you can find a large public open air car park about 300 metres away (not so good if you have heavy luggage or if it's raining/snowing/icy). This is an inexpensive hotel so you need to make some allowances. It's OK for people on a budget who just want a safe place to sleep. Just be aware that there's no lift and a lot of stairs in this building. So elderly and mobility challenged might not like it. The reception is not manned 24/7, but the guy on the desk when we checked in was very helpful and friendly.
