Simple & Beautifully decorated rooms with a pleasant ambiance to provide a feel of home. Excellent in customer service!!! The location of the hotel is ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy some peace and quietness. Price for the stay is very economical even during the holiday season. Meal times are flexible and you can enjoy the good company of the chef himself if you are a solo traveller. The hotel consists of only 5 rooms in total and therefore doesn’t get overcrowded. However the road to the location is slightly under construction and is about a 10 minute walk from the main entrance. On a rainy day it could be slightly messy and inconvenient. However, the Manager,Tommy and the Chef Barrack are very kind and helpful and does a good job to make you feel secured and relaxed during the stay. I certainly would love to visit this place for a longer stay in the future❤️❤️

Welcome to the Loft Hostel, a fun and comfortable place to stay.
Big room with heating & hot water. A shower curtain would make the bathroom even better but for the price it was good value. Breakfast was ok - coffee/tea not included. Location is v good & the staff helpful in general info &booking us a taxi to the station

Run by Angela and Djarga, now 11 kms from Tagong town, Khampa Nomad Ecolodge is a comfortable, eco-friendly, off-grid self-sufficient bed-and-breakfast, in the wide open pasturelands, with mountain views and amazing hiking, yet with easy 1-hour access to Kangding airport. We host top-rated horse and hiking treks, nomad tent stays, and artisan workshops; open year-round. The lodge is built with love in traditional style with modern amenities. Our focus is on local nomad food products, modeling rurally-appropriate eco-friendly technologies, and most of all, allowing for authentic experience and real connection to nomads, with experience in the region since 2004 (including founding and running the Khampa Cafe in Tagong from 2010-2014, though we are no longer connected to the cafe).
Originally decided not to write this review following a visit to Tagong last year, but having recently heard that a friend had experienced the same thing I wanted to share this warning on both travelling to, and staying at, 'Angela's Place'. Last May we travelled in a group of four to Kangding, having booked a highly anticipated stay at Khampa Ecolodge. We had seen many excellent reviews (I'm sure well deserved based on the experiences of those who were actually able to make it there) of the amazing cultural immersion available at the lodge. Upon arrival at Kangding airport security instantly knew where we were going, mentioning Angela and giving the sense that she is well know and respected by locals. Following the usual additional security checks for foreigners (they kept us supplied with tea whilst we waited), we took a car to Tagong, arriving a day prior to our stay at Khampa. That evening, however, we were to receive a call from Angela bearing bad news, we would have to cancel our stay. Angela told us that we were no longer able to stay at the lodge due to local police sensitivities, and that we would need to go elsewhere. When asking for any advice on where to go, she provided no support, so we pushed back on the cancellation asking for more explanation. Apparently this was a step too far, and her next response was to accuse us of wanting to "destroy her business", and "welcome to her world" where foreigners face these types of issues all the time. Not exactly the response you would expect based on the close local community vibes the lodge website promotes (instead it seems that Angela is managing a very delicate situation with the local police). Eventually we gave up, got our refund and went to Xinduqiao instead. Safe to say that Tagong is a sensitive area, and we all know that things can change with regard to foreign guests on a day-to-day basis. None of these risks are mentioned however on the Khampa website, and Angela failed to inform us of any potential problems in the weeks prior to our visit. Instead it seems that foreigners who turn up on a bad day are just left to fend for themselves. Angela - we would never wish to ruin your business, but you have had nearly a year since our failed visit to consider warning foreign guests of the potential cancellation risks. It seems that you still refuse to do so, sticking to your 'on the day cancellation' policy. For all prospective guests, suggest that you think twice about booking Khampa. It may indeed be an incredible experience, but you may become the next victim of cancellation. For us this is permanent, as we are "no longer welcome" at the lodge.

Guest rooms offer amenities such as air conditioning, a kitchenette, and a desk, and guests can go online with free wifi offered by the guest house. She Home features room service, to help make your stay more enjoyable. While you’re here, be sure to check out Su Tan TuErQi CanBa, one of the Mediterranean restaurants that can be found in Chengdu, which is a short distance from She Home. Best of all, She Home makes it easy to experience many great Chengdu attractions like Anshun Bridge (Dongmen Bridge) (1.1 mi), Chunxi Road Pedestrian Street (0.2 mi), and Daci Temple (0.3 mi), which are a short distance away. She Home looks forward to welcoming you on your visit to Chengdu.
I have little to add to the comments about the place being run down. That is a very fair summary. Otherwise friendly, helpful owner was such an asset. And you can't heat the location if you want to be in the heart of the CBD. Car met us at the airport as arranged too.

Zhuo Ma's Jiuzhaigou Home Stay is the Lonely Planet and Rough Guide top choices for Jiuzhaigou accommodation. It is located in the beautiful Shang Si Zhai Valley which is 15km from the park entrance (free transfers provided) where you will see local Tibetans go about their daily life, herding yak and goats as well as going on pilgrimages around our sacred mountains. Zhuo Ma runs the home stay with her mother (Ama) and brothers. They share their time between the home stay and their A Bu Lu Zi Tibetan Restaurant and between them will make sure you have a great stay! There is 24hrs hot water and a western toilet in the home stay. It is a traditional Tibetan home so there are no en-suite bathrooms. There is one bathroom on the ground floor of the home as well as two outhouse toilets, one with a solar heated hot shower. They do everything they can to make your stay comfortable but please note that this is a home stay in a beautiful, traditional Tibetan valley, not a hotel.
The house itself is nice, the surrounding is beautiful. The downside is that you cant really go anywhere, because there is no transportation. They will take you to the Jiuzhaigou park, which is great. If you want to visit Huanglong park, they will book a taxi for you, since its a little far. I had a flight back in the afternoon, so I visited Huanglong in the morning, its not so large and a few hours is enough. So, 2-3 days would be more than enough in that area. I didnt like taxi arrangements. I was picked up in the airport by some Chinese guy that was trying to do some shady business, tried to get something from me, which I couldn't understand. I had to call the main office from the car, they spoke to him and after that he finally stopped. Another detail, they never tell you to pay the driver. I took taxi on the way there and on the way back, and both times, they paid themselves. It looks like they are trying to make some extra on your taxi rides and overcharging you. But since you cant get a taxi from there by yourself, you are very limited. Dinners were great and tasty.

Guests of Caiyun Hotel can find some great restaurants a short walk from the small hotel, including A Bu Lu Zi Tibetan Restaurant (0.0 mi) and ManJiangHong Restaurant (0.3 mi). If you’re looking for something to do, Zhongcha Canyon is a nice way to spend some time. Caiyun Hotel is sure to make your visit to Jiuzhaigou County one worth remembering.
We really enjoyed our stay at Caiyun Hotel. It is very quiet in Jiuzhaigou at the moment from the earthquake, so most places have shut down. From the other places we saw in the area, Caiyun definitely seems to be the nicest. Staff are very friendly and the rooms are comfortable. Highly encourage doing a one-day Huanglong hiking trip. Remember to buy tickets for the Jiuzhaigou national park well in advance as the number of people allowed into the park has been reduced significantly.

We never met the son, however the mother was really lovely. Always smiling and always accommodating. The room as well as the shower is tiny but good enough for a one night stay. The bed is rather comfy which is rare in that part of the world. Would stay there again anytime!

This is one of the few traditional Tibetan houses in the town. Not only the Tibetan appearance, but also the internal wooden structure, as well as Tibetan cultural murals. The owner once operated an inn in Sri Lanka. She is English-speakable and willing to host foreign tourists.
The boss has accessibility communication in English and Chinese! The inn is on the most prosperous main street and the location is superb! Convenient transportation! A variety of restaurants, pharmacies, supermarkets within 200 meters, very convenient! The hotel is all-wooden and the room is LOFT style, which is the most characteristic of the road. The bathroom is the most important part of my stay at the hotel, this is very very clean! ! Spacious! ! Must be praised! The boss is a Chengdu girl. It is very nice and amazing. Tibetan wooden houses will make people feel more deeply in the local customs. To some extent, the meaning of travel is also like this. In some beautiful and warm places, meet some kind people. (Or not met). The boss had been doing a guesthouse in Sri Lanka before, so there is authentic Sri Lankan milk tea in the hotel, and the taste very great!!

Best place to stay when you visit Jiuzhaigou. 15 min drive from the park you find this lovely Tibetan lodge. The family is very friendly and make amazing food. They can pick you up from the bus stop and drop you at the park. Highly recommend. Stephan, the Netherlands
