A stronghold of Mayan culture, San Cristóbal’s colonial stucco walls and Spanish tile roofs contrast with the surrounding villages, which remain home to an array of Mayan-descendant Indians. The city itself is a delight. Paired with the cultural diversity surrounding it, there’s nothing like it in Mexico.

Really enjoyed our stay. Lovely colonial style hotel. We stayed in a suite which was split level and very spacious with a huge bed which was very comfortable and only £112 for 3 nights. Staff were super helpful, spoke basic English (which is a bonus for the area), advised and able to book tours and also helped organise us a private driver to take us to our next destination, Palenque. Location is great, few minutes walk to everything. Breakfast was ok but found much better spots to have breakfast and coffee close by. Would highly recommend to anyone planning to visit San Cristobal.

Great hostel. However, breakfast is horrible. I suggest booking a room without breakfast. Otherwise, you would pay for nothing. Rooms near the street is quite noisy. Overall, I liked the ambience of the hotel.

We enjoyed everything about Hostel Mirador. Three of us - me, wife, 14-year old son. Just a real comfortable, laid back atmosphere. Has a nice mix of young, backpacker types and older, family-types like us. Basically, a great hostel feel without crazy millennials partying until late at night :) And, as a family, we appreciated the option of staying in our own room with a private bath and let the youngsters sleep in the dorm accommodations! Good breakfasts. Friendly owner Jose Luis. Pleasant courtyard to relax in and have a drink at the end of the day. Plenty of interesting people. Two thumbs up.

Posada Primavera is artfully decorated and located in a central location, easy walking distance to main square and great shops and restaurants. My first room was lovely but situated too close to the office on the main floor so was noisy. Staff graciously changed me to a different room on the second floor (equally lovely) as soon as I requested it. The hotel offers complimentary toiletries & bottled water, the shower was hot with good pressure, and WiFi was reliable. The bed was large and comfortable and extra cozy blankets were provided, needed on chilly nights in this city. My room had a window, a full length mirror (unlike some reviewers complaints of no mirror), and the rooster some have complained about was not present! There are lovely gardens and common areas on all three floors. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. When my shuttle was late on morning of departure, the manager called them without my asking to make sure they were on the way to pick me up. I'll stay here again on my next visit to San Cristobal.

Best choice for hotel in San Cristobal de las Casas. The hotel is very well decorated, clean and cozy. In this place, you get the experience of a fancy boutique hotel at great value. The location is very decent as you will be 2 blocks away from the town square. Cost / benefit relation is the best. Totally worth it and totally recommended. Best choice for couples. Notice that there are no kids allowed, so only a great choice for couples, not kids.

Very nice hostel with a beautiful garden. Staff is friendly and helpful. Got pool and ping-pong table, TV for the movie nights and a fireplace for a little colder San Cris nights . Kitchen conditions good. Can be a bit of noisy at the street side of dorm, but earplugs work for me at night. Other than that, 200% worth of staying and deserves 5+ stars!

We hadn't read previous reviewers comments before booking to stay, which is a good thing as might have been put off. We had a great stay here. Rooms are attractive and well-furnished. The ones with a terrace are preferable, as noted previously due to the wonderful light quality. The issue of noise is much improved - we are sensitive to nighttime street/bar noise as so many hotel guests are, but found that, while the noise carries on late from the street, keeping terrace doors shut was sufficient to block it out. Hot water etc no problem. Wifi and TV worked well. And, the restaurant on the main floor was a delight. We would go back here anytime.

I was planning to stay a few days and ended up staying two months. I had a wonderful time and I'm sure I'll be back. The rooms are full of light and decorated with taste, the staff very friendly. Not so far from the city center though in a more tranquil part of the town.

I really liked this mix of a yoga studio, galery and hotel. I had the studio apartment and it was perfect. I had fast internet to work on, their included breakfast is very good and offers a lot of different options. I enjoyed the very central location with many bars, restaurants and wellness offers nearby (they have their own yoga studio too with daily classes). Of course, you can hear the nightlife at night, but that is normal in a central location like this. You shouldn't mind that if you book it.
