We took the whole house on a self catering basis. It had everything we needed & is very comfortable in all respects. The manager & staff were very accommodating & helpful. We would all happily go back another time

The tiny town of Riebeek Kasteel is a delightful soup of small owner-occupied shops, from clothing to brewery to hardware, etc.. Sitting atop the town, like the jewel in the crown, is the old hotel, looking inviting and priced as reasonably as the B&Bs. If I'd done the booking, it would have been at the old hotel. However, we stayed at La Montagne Guest House which was perfectly fine, quite comfortable, but a bit too homey and over-decorated for me. Our hostess was a charmer, but we were still sleeping in the room off the kitchen, decorated by my granny. Breakfast was a treat, with fruit-filled pancakes as a prelude to eggs and bacon. I have nothing negative to say about La Montagne, but if ambiance is important, stay at the refurbished hotel.

Wow, what a spoil! Absolute beautiful and tasteful guesthouse with Gareth's exceptional hospitality. Location is perfect for a peaceful and relaxing stay with a stunning view of vineyards. Delicious cakes for coffee/tea and canapes with drinks was an absolute treat. Would highly recommend it for more than one night's stay.

Formerly Shades of the Valley, this quaint guest house is set in the heart of the beautiful village of Riebeek Kasteel, less than 1 hr drive from Cape Town. The guest house has been recently renovated and its French Provencal look and feel have been restored, while adding a few touches of chic and glamour. The guest house consists of 2 fully-equipped kitchens, 2 lounges with fireplaces, and 6 bedrooms en-suite. All bedrooms and lounges have flat screen TVs. There is an air-con unit in each bedroom. There is a lovely veranda, back porch, garden and swimming pool. Experienced therapists are on call to offer massages in the privacy of your room. The house is ideal for groups as it can be rented out as a whole. It can also be split up into two units.
Thank you fir a lovely stay . The accommodation was great. I enjoyed being left alone and the whole place for myself. Shades of Provence is a place with lots of character and very special. It was so peaceful. The garden is lovely but really needs a lot of TLC. The two Guava trees in the front are busy destroying and overgrowing the lovely shrubs and other trees. If not removed it will spoil the whole outlay of the garden. I nearly offered to stay there for 2 weeks to fix up the garden. It has so much potential to become a stunning garden. Be once again it was a lovely and most enjoyable two days. Thank you so much. Estelle

Only 1 hour from Cape Town International Airport.
We really enjoyed our stay at Olyfenhuis. The room was clean and spacious with a super comfortable bed and everything we needed. Very friendly service and best value for your money!! We'll be back! :)

Red Tin Roof is a manor house that has been sleeping guests, feeding strangers and quenching thirsts for decades. The new owners gave her a complete facelift and donned her in new colours. Known as a bit of a party animal, they enlarged the bar - and added another! They have re-vamped her from head to toe and decorated her with an eclectic mixture of art and collectibles from around the world.
Everything and everone was very pleasant here, and it is great value. My only dissatisfaction was with the breakfast coffee - I like plunger coffee, but this was watery and poor (both mornings), and warm milk would have helped compensate for the thick, cold cup. Note that the bedrooms leak sound from the central lounge area when this is being used, but that was seldom any problem.

Lekkerberg offers contemporary luxury rooms providing probably the most elevated views in Riebeek Kasteel across the valley to the Tulbagh mountains. Hunkered at the base of Kasteelberg with vineyard and mountain vistas from all rooms, come and enjoy the laid back tranquillity it provides. Step inside any of the three exclusive queen size rooms and you'll find an eclectic mix of new and vintage furniture. 'Contemporary industrial' sums up the pared back interiors....fuss free and not a white wall in sight. Guests can lounge in either of the two pools available or relax on the covered pool terrace and marvel at the majestic views across the valley.
What a beautiful and peacefull guesthouse. My family had an amazaing time. Our host were friendly and accomodating. The rooms are spacious, clean and have amazing views of the valley. Guesthouse is situated within walking distance numerous restaurants.
