We stayed here both before and after hiking the W-trek in Patagonia, and the service both times was phenomenal. Alvaro and his family were fantastic hosts. The rooms are quiet, clean, and very cozy. Beautiful views from the top balcony. Alvaro works hard on his garden that brings positive energy to the place. They even made us delicious, hearty breakfasts every morning, perfect fuel for the day ahead. Alvaro gave us plenty of recommendations regarding restaurants to dine at, and they were very punctual with helping us call taxis when needed. If I'm ever back in Puerto Natales, this will be my go-to spot!

I was originally offered a nice cabana but when I told the owner I had problems with stairs, he immediately changed me to a room that was entirely on the ground floor. I was travelling alone, but had a two-bedroom apartment (a double and a single) completely supplied with everything, including private bath, full kitchen, flat screen TV, dining table and everything else I could have possibly needed. man who checked me in, late in the evening did not speak English, but the daytime attendant was fluent and very helpful. Tip: If you pay with cash in Chilean Pesos, you can avoid the 19% VAT. Not true with credit card. Note: The bathroom was a tight fit and could use an upgrade. Not a real problem, but worth mentioning. Bring your own bar of soap! Everything else was supplied.

Casa Lucy a place to rest, comfortable, cozy, spacious bitaciones, with personalized service and breakfast included, we wait ...
We stayed the night at Casa Lucy and found it quite pleasant. The room we had was simple but the bed was very comfortable and the entire place was immaculate. Lucy was very welcoming, she doesn't speak much English but can make herself understood and seemed to understand our needs. She was very sweet and helpful, sweet person. We were on our way to Torres del Paine after a long set of flights and this was a great spot to rest up for the drive up to the park. it also had a private bathroom, which we find to be a necessity. Again, so clean! Breakfast was set up for us at a time we chose. Lucy will prepare eggs and there was juice and toast, and coffee available. Again, simple but good. The coffee here is instant, but we found that at a few places on our trip. I switched to tea, which was fine. This is definitely a good place to stay, clean and comfy.

I took the perfect review record with a grain of salt, given the small sample size. But after staying three nights at Appelgren House, the score seems understated. The minimalist hotel exterior conceals a wealth of treasures within. Artwork and artifacts from the proprietors' very extensive world travels are tastefully arrayed on the hotel's walls, ceilings, and floors. The place is less a boutique hotel than a museum. Better yet, owner Heliodoro promptly and thoroughly dispelled our confusion about how to best access the Torres park and area surrounding El Calafate. Clearly invested in making sure we had a good time, with charm, wit, and exemplary taste, he set out an itinerary, made reservations, and even pulled strings for us. This included steering us to great restaurants and even particular dishes on the menu (before we left for Buenos Aires, he made us a list of places to eat - all have been wonderful). Every suggestion panned out beautifully. The value of a person who can help you get the most out of a substantial investment in traveling to the extreme other side of the world can hardly be overstated. I recommend Appelgren House and Heliodoro unqualifiedly.

Los anfitriones son super amables, atienden super bien en el buffet de la mañana, las piezas son cómodas con todo lo necesario, se mantiene siempre limpio todo y es un extra tener la opción de poder cenar algún plato de korea. Muy recomendable.

Extremely basic bedrooms, we stayed in a two twin bed with bathroom and it was simply very poor/cheap. First of all; the mattresses were used up so much they were tilted, very uncomfortable and bad for the back, plus it was a spring mattress; i could feel the springs... Also only one pillow was provided per bed... Second; no hooks in the bedroom or bathroom to hang coats and/or towels and so on... no night table lamps. Third; there was only one plug in the bedroom so if I needed to use my phone while charging it it was impossible since there were no chairs in the room to sit down next to the plug. Fourth; the shower was extremely small and the floor of it was lifted up, as if it were not glued properly to the ground... very strange. Overall I found everything so cheap and uncomfortable... not worth your the try! For about the same price we found much better for the remaining nights in Natales. Bonus: a couple dead flies by the kitchen window where the breakfast buffet is served. PS: payments in cash only. We booked via Booking.com and in the confirmation email we received this was not stated anywhere.
