We've just had 3 night's b&b at the Wellington Heifer and it's been really good. Room 1 is large and beautifully decorated. The bed was comfy and the double glazing amazing. Not a sound from the traffic. Rob, Johnny and Charlotte were all excellent and always smiling and helpful. The evening meals were outstanding and the breakfasts set us up for the day. Definitely a place to recommend and return to.

Five Star Gold Award winning Boutique B&B, it's most famous guest was King Charles I in 1647 who was held as a prisoner !
Christine and Charles could not have made us feel more welcome during our weekend at the historic Porch House. Their attention to detail is outstanding and the room contained many thoughtful little extras which hugely added to the comfort of our stay. From robes and slippers to fresh milk in the fridge for our morning tea, they'd thought of everything. Their central location directly opposite Northallerton church was perfect and the secure parking behind the house enabled us to leave the car and forget it for 48 hours. We stayed in the King Charles room and enjoyed the ancient beams and floorboards. Highly recommended.

Finding an ideal family-friendly bed and breakfast in Northallerton does not have to be difficult. Welcome to Swan House, a nice option for travelers like you. Rooms at Swan House offer a flat screen TV providing exceptional comfort and convenience, and guests can go online with free wifi. A lounge will also help to make your stay even more special. If you are driving to Swan House, free parking is available. If you like cafes, Swan House is conveniently located near Roots Farm Shop and Lynne's Pantry. Should time allow, Mount Grace Priory, House and Gardens is a popular historic site that is relatively easy to get to. Swan House puts the best of Northallerton at your fingertips, making your stay both relaxing and enjoyable.
I booked a 2 nights stay at Swan House through a third party booking app. On the day the reservation was due to commence, I received a message from the property that a mistake had been made in the price quoted and paid. At the time I was half way in to a 200 miles journey to the property. What followed was hours of three way communication between myself, the property and the third party booking app. The proprietor blamed the third party for the error and the third party blamed the proprietor. Ultimately, the proprietor made the decision not to honour the booking, leaving me stranded and out of pocket. In no way should the paying customer be inconvenienced and financially penalised for errors that are not their responsibility. The whole experience was totally unsatisfactory.

Called in today for a family lunch whilst out shopping. We were met by friendly bar staff who greeted us warmly and offered us a option of where we would like to sit to eat, we opted for the restaurant as our son has special needs and prefers a quiet area. We were shown through to a spacious, clean, quiet area and given the choice of sitting where we preferred. We opted for a booth and we were promptly asked if we would like drinks. These were brought by Ellie our server who was extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We as a family have a variety of intolerances and she advised us on what we were able to have/ what to avoid. We didn't have to wait long for food , but while we were waiting other servers were cleaning tables and busy making sure everyone was happy. We opted for GF fish and chips, chicken pie and a posh fish finger sandwich. These were all piping hot, tasty and extremely fresh. Staff made sure things were to our satisfaction without standing over us which made a refreshing change. My son has a extremely limited diet and is very picky but even he said how nice the food was. The bill for 3 of us with drinks was just over £30. Well worth it and we will be back!!!. Thanks for a great experience

If you fancy travelling further afield, Helmsley, York, Whitby and Scarborough are all within easy reach.
I was in the area for business and used The Duke of Wellington for a 1 night stopover. I arrived in the pub and was welcomed by my lovely friendly host and shown to my double room. This is a village pub and the rooms are in an inner courtyard at the back which was perfect for what I needed - a cosy, clean, quiet place to sleep. The room was located on the ground floor and had an ensuite bathroom with shower, and towels, and the room also had a little flat-screen TV, tea/coffee making stuff (electric kettle etc), and a built in wardrobe / clothes rack. And - so important for me - sockets near the bed for phone charging! (big hotel chains please take note!) I went to the bar and had a lovely meal and chill out (my portion was such a good size I couldn't eat it all!) - the food was all cooked fresh and so tasty. That evening I visited Yarm for a stroll along the river which was really nice. I would definitely stop here again if in the area - big thank you to everyone for your kindness and a nice stay.

We came for a walking holiday and stayed for a weekend. We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed one the refurbished rooms at the front of the building. The room was large and bright. VERY comfortable bed and good linen. We especially enjoyed the shower….wow. We enjoyed several different gins from an extensive range and all the food was amazing. We have to make a special mention for the chips. These were the best chips I ever tasted. I would return just to enjoy these again. Throughout our stay we were looked after superbly by a new and well trained team who were always on hand to give advice, answer questions and take care of us. At the end of out stay we met Jules, the new manager, who was genuinely interested on getting our feedback and gave us advice about local walks we could do. Very refreshing and you can see why her team are so amazing.

I was doing the Coast to Coast walk when I stayed here. It is was lovely to sit in the garden with a cup of tea and a homemade biscuit after a long day walking. I had an evening meal, which was an excellent homecooked ham (and breadsauce). After a good nights nights sleep in a very comfy bed and a hearty breakfast I was recharged and ready to face another day of walking. Mary and John are charming hosts who could not have made me feel more welcome.
