A holiday in Norfolk is not a glamorous break. While the Norfolk Broads of East Anglia are a beautiful part of the UK, they represent a relaxing rural getaway rather than a high-powered city-break. Although its reputation is mostly rural, with people associating the county mostly with the wetlands of the Norfolk Broads, there are also towns such as Norwich and King's Lynn to visit, both of which provide shopping opportunities, nightlife and entertainment. Norfolk also contains a large stretch of coastline, and seaside destinations such as Cromer and Great Yearmouth mean there are great beaches to be found as well. Many areas of the Norfolk Broads and the coastal region are sites of outstanding natural beauty, and are also protected as bird reserves, so take a pair of binoculars on holiday. There are also popular wildlife attractions such as Banham Zoo, with a great collection of big cats, and Great Yarmouth's Sea Life Centre, one of the biggest of its kind in the country, complete with tropical sharks and conger eels. And of course, if any of your family are interested in boating, you'll need to rent a boat and explore the waterways of the Broads themselves!

Blakeney House is a family run Bed and Breakfast set in the picturesque flint-built village of Blakeney, on the stunning North Norfolk coast. The beautiful Victorian property is only a short walk from Blakeney Quay, it's also within easy reach of gorgeous sandy beaches, bustling market towns and stately homes. All this makes Blakeney House the ideal base for walkers, cyclists, sailors, golfers, birdwatchers as well as families and those just wanting to get away from it all.
We stayed for three days, and everyone was perfect. The room was clean and bright with the appropriate facilities. Very sufficient supplies of tea and coffee, milk etc in the room. I did like the strategically placed additional tea bag caddy which catered for you if you fancied something different like and Earl Grey or Assam. The food both at breakfast and dinner was so tasty and well cooked. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and made the stay so much better. We will stay again.

NEWS We have just been awarded "Best 4 star hotel in the East of England" on Trivago. A unique boutique hotel situated just yards from the seafront and promenade and just minutes from the town centre. Built in the Edwardian period as a gentleman's residence, Burlington Berties has five rooms and three suites all named after musical hall theatres of 1900's.
Amazing hotel, just returned from a 3 night break. We stayed in The Strand room which was lovely. Owners and staff all gave a very warm welcome during our stay. Great location, short walk to sea and town. Looking forward to returning soon.

The Grove is a Georgian family-run guest house, self-catering cottages and restaurant situated in four acres of gardens on the Norfolk coast. Set back from the road and with plenty of parking as well as a heated indoor swimming pool, we are ten minutes' walk from Cromer town centre and just a few minutes through woodland from the cliffs and beach.
My family all stayed in 3 cottages and a yurt for 4 nights over the jubilee weekend. The Grove has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and is perfect for young children. The garden is beautiful and great for children. I stayed in the Cottage which does seem a bit dark and could do with a ‘face lift’ We enjoyed the Sundown which is great for the family and the restaurant ( for adults) where the food was excellent. The children’s playground could be better but overall we had a wonderful stay and have booked again next year. Many thanks to all the staff!

Nestling in the pretty village of West Runton discover the natural beauty of the small coastal Norfolk village of West Runton, it is in an ideal place to stay for playing Golf, Horse-riding, Fishing, or enjoying beautiful country and coastal walks with nearby bird watching facilities
We stayed 5th June 2022 for one night as a group of 12 senior golfers. The hotel was clean, bright and had a great atmosphere. The staff led by Courtney were very professional and always had a great big smile on their faces. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast had a large choice and the food was fresh, tasty, hot and plentiful. The bar had a good verity of beers, gins, spirits and wines. We can not recommend this hotel highly enough and we can not wait to return in July! Thank you.

Overlooking a pretty, leafy Georgian square in the bustling seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea, The Globe Inn is perfectly placed for an adventure on the beautiful North Norfolk coast. Newly refurbished and inspired by the towns maritime charm, the pub and dining room have been lovingly updated. An eclectic mix of travel ephemera adorn the walls, and the brickwork and beams are complimented with walnut timbers and brass and antique lighting. With the breath-taking beaches, numerous attractions, and plethora of quirky shops, it is almost impossible to fit everything into one day when visiting Norfolk. Our 19 bedrooms offer a cosy place to rest your head after a day in the salty sea air. Lovingly refreshed, all our rooms have been re-designed to emulate the North Norfolk coast inspiring fabrics, papers, and paints, capturing the maritime charm of Wells-Next-The-Sea.
Came to the Globe for an evening meal while on holiday having been on previous occasions prior to the restaurant being refurbished. Meal was over priced for the small sized portions with the menu over selling an average meal. The steak salad was little more than a few leaves while two of our party also thought their chicken was under cooked and left their dishes. No one wanted to stay for a desert. Staff were polite but thin on the ground so not really attentive. On top of the expensive meals a 10% service charge was added which was a joke. Sorry Globe, but we will not be visiting you again for dinning.

Had an amazing couple of nights stay. From walking into reception, everything was top class. The food in the restaurant was so delicious, reasonably priced & portions were very generous. Breakfast (included in price), was full of choice. Every member of staff was so helpful, polite & pleasant. We didnt use any of the facilities, as had made plans for a bit of sight-seeing & catching up with friends. Clean & tidy. Will definitely be returning. Thank you.

Historic Grade 2 listed Inn and Restaurant in the market town of Aylsham in Norfolk
Popped in for a meal this lunchtime as we have really enjoyed the food on previous occasions. My wife ordered Butter and Thyme Roasted Norfolk Chicken Breast and I had Duo of Swannington Pork. Both dishes arrived in reasonable time and were very well presented. Overall we enjoyed the meal but I was confused by the ‘crackling’ which was white, tasted of nothing and had the texture of polystyrene. It was the only thing that remained on my plate at the end. If one of the staff had asked if everything was ok, which they usually do, we would have said “excellent part from the crackling”, but as they didn’t we left it unsaid. We are now regretting that we did not ask for an explanation. We will be back again but would suggest care in the selection of some ingredients.
