Completely refurbished at the start of 2019 The Clive Arms offers spacious, beautifully appointed accommodation in its 17 bedrooms. The Georgian building has been tastefully decorated and offers a relaxed atmosphere where you can sample some of the regions finest seasonal food, whether this is in the restaurant, the bar, the Plassey dining room or weather permitting, in one of our outside courtyard areas. Situated on the outskirts of the beautiful historic town of Ludlow just off the A49, with the famous Ludlow Racecourse and Golf course located 5 minutes walk away, The Clive Arms offers the perfect base from which to explore the stunning countryside of South Shropshire and Welsh Marches.
Lovely weekend stay with meal, overnight stay and breakfast. Great food and service, will return soon! Cheese hamper a lovely touch included. Pretty walk through the estate to Ludlow and lots of other walking routes to explore.

The Town House Ludlow is an understated yet beautifully restored B&B in this pretty market town in South Shropshire. Each of the nine luxury en-suite bedrooms and suites have been sympathetically planned and individually furnished, combining elegant period style furniture with luxurious soft furnishings.
We spent a lovely night in the Junior Suite, much bigger than expected with an enormous comfortable bed and a wonderful bathroom. Spotlessly clean and very quiet with a wonderful view of Ludlow from the window, you really feel part of the history of the place as you sit/lie under the ancient roof beams. If you really must watch tv in bed you will be disappointed because there is one tv and that is in the sitting room and they are rooms rather than a traditional hotel with a reception desk and an all you can eat breakfast etc but if that ruins your stay you are missing the point of the experience, it really is a wonderful place to stay!

Had a very good meal, very well presented as you can see here and good, attentive service Meat all locally reared - the landlord even shoots the venison himself (sustainably) Slightly out of town but on The River Corve so a bit of a find and recommended as you’ll almost certainly get a table

14th century free house in the centre of historic Ludlow The Church Inn; nestled in the centre of the idyllic Shropshire town of Ludlow, is a Grade II listed building which harbours the warmth and character one would expect from what was originally an 14th Century house. Open year-round, traditional and hearty British pub fayre is served in favourable contemporary surrounds The Church Inn has 4 cosy rooms located on the top floor.
Ludlow is the halfway point for Cardiff/Manchester. Myself and my mum travelled from Cardiff and my sister from Manchester. After reading reviews we booked the Church Inn. We ordered starters of salmon and goats cheese which was way too rich to finish. Maybe some bread or less cheese could have made this better but as it was we were quite disappointed. For mains we (all) ordered the cod. It was delicious but sadly very small. We actually left there and went to another pub and got drinks and nibbles so if you are planning on “eating” maybe this is not for you. Great service/ drinks / ambience but £132 between 3 and still hungry then perhaps it’s not for everyone xx Would come to Ludlow again 100% but maybe not The Church. We did tell the waiter but think he was preoccupied.

We offer a large bar area, comfortable lounge area as well as a recently refurbished accommodation and we are only a stone’s throw from historic landmarks such as Ludlow or The Market in the town square. Our bar offers a wide range of wines, beers, spirits, and real ales too. We try to keep our accommodation to a high standard which available throughout the year however we understand that our name "The Bull Hotel" automatically gives you expectations of... well a hotel but we are not a hotel, we are a 16th Century Coaching Inn that has rooms located above the bar but the building has been known as The Bull Hotel since 1508. We serve a hot cooked breakfast for our hotel guests using as many locally sourced ingredients as we can. There are events and fayres all throughout the year in historic Ludlow with The Bull hosting, contributing, or taking part in them. Therefore, The Bull offers you the perfect place for you to stay right in the centre of it all while you are visiting. Our recently refurbished rooms are all en-suite and come with a colour television, hairdryers, towels, and complimentary toiletries as well as tea and coffee making facilities. Onsite parking is no longer available as the courtyard closed for car parking and has become a Courtyard Beer garden. The closest available parking is located at Galdeford Car Park with rates as low as £2.40 for all day parking. Please note that The Bull, under normal circumstances, has live music on Saturday nights and over the full weekend during Ludlow festivals until late and therefore noise will be experienced in the rooms. The family room may not be suitable for young children when live music is playing. The Bull Hotel is a 12th Century Coaching Inn with our four En-suite letting rooms located above the bar therefore bar noise can be experienced in most rooms when the premises is busy. However due to the current pandemic all live music has been cancelled until further notice.
The reviews seemed good - evidently others' experience is different. The offputting 'welcome' is a large sign that you will be thrown out if you don't comply with government Covid regulations - at a time when none were in force. The room was small, indeed cramped, and not terribly clean, although the single bed was comfortable. For heating, neither of the radiators worked. For ventilation, the windows were locked shut, but fresh air was available because one of the windows was broken (not cracked - broken, with glass missing). The 'free wifi' needs a pasword which is not disclosed on checkin or in the documents in the room (it was the middle of the night before I discovered I needed the password). The decoration of the room includes empty picture frames, one with a notice about how to insert a picture. There is a residents' lounge, tastefully furnished with a couple of daily papers about a week old, and a pile of spare parts for the boiler. In the morning this becomes the self service breakfast, bearing little relation to the self-administered praise in the literature. Cheap sliced bread, cheap jams; no cafetieres of coffee as promised (and when the single jug of coffee ran out it was not refilled). Eventually cooked breakfast was offered and served by a person who may not have had training in hospitality. It was microwaved into leather and frankly I do not believe the assertions about the high quality of the ingredients, although it was difficult to tell. I may have hit them at a bad time, but I shan't take the risk again. It was a poor place to stay and poor value.

The Wheatsheaf Inn was built in 1668 and first licensed as a Public Guest House in 1753. It has remained one ever since. It adjoins the towns historic 13th-century Broad Gate, which itself stands at the lower end of Broad Street, described by architectural conservers as "the prettiest street in Great Britain, set in what is probably the finest example of a medieval town anywhere." Ludlow's medieval castle, its towering church and its host of imposing buildings from many architectural eras give the town a special atmosphere. Its variety of small independent shops, offering interesting individual merchandise, make it supremely enjoyable to visit in any season. The surrounding rolling countryside is as attractive as the town. There are miles of clearly marked walks for all abilities on Whitcliffe Common and alongside the river Teme, both close to the Wheatsheaf, and in nearby Mortimer Forest. Boating, cycling. Canoeing, pony trekking, swimming and putting are readily available. Golf, horse racing, clay pigeon shooting, gliding, parachuting, light aircraft flying and other air pursuits are within easy reach. Ludlow is an ideal centre for touring the Welsh border country by car. Offa's dyke, many ancient hill forts, the cathedral city of Hereford and county town of Shrewsbury, the Long Mynd Hills, and numerous other attractions are easy drives. From nearby Clee Hill, your panorama sweeps from the Brecon Beacons to the Black Country.
Visited during the spring festival in may and the sunday lunch was fantastic. It was all home made and we could not fault anything. The owner has a wicked sense of humour ( really love him ) will always recommend this place. 10/10

Fantastic food and drink served by Richard who looked after us throughout our evening and was a credit to the establishment. They have accommodation but we didn't stay with them but if service in the bar is anything to go by it will be great
