Ancient tradition and contemporary trend meet in age-old London. One of the most cosmopolitan and dynamic destinations on earth, for centuries the British capital has been on the forefront of whatever has been deemed cutting edge, en vogue, and topical. A thriving metropolis of several million people with a global reach and a worldly outlook, London is at its heart a series of small, interconnected villages with the framework and infrastructure of a modern city joining them together, yet seldom denying each its own distinctive character.

When we arrived at the hotel we got checked in early and 2 members of staff working in the morning where lovely on 1st June. we have couple drinks and breakfast, then headed into London to set our tent up on the mall for the trooping of the colors on Thursday. Thursday night when we got back we where then woken up 11pm and 2am by what sounded like fighting and screaming both on our floor and the floor above. this then was the same on Friday and Saturday night. we did say to member of staff but they didn't seem to bothered.( We where told hotel was busy because of jubilee which I get, but they def need to have staff walking the floors at night to stop the disturbances. was really disappointed in by the end as its started off so well. The Tv was also not working during our stay, the rooms are clean and cant fault them at all! we were in room 204 the noise from traffic and people outside is very loud to be expected from main road! access to London via bus 97 and Victoria line tube.

Had my doubts but was pleasantly surprised. Rooms may be small but they are well laid out and have everything you need for an overnight. Good shower, comfy bed and the air con, lighting etc controlled from the bed. Dimmer when using the loo in the night is perfect!! Breakfast for £7 was good too and plenty of space in the reception to work and have a coffee. All staff pleasant and helpful.

The St. Athans Hotel, Bloomsbury, is a simple, eco-friendly, family-run bed & breakfast in the heart of London. It’s grade II listed 200 year old Georgian terraced houses retain many of its their original features, fitting in well with the historic area, and is within walking distance of the British Museum, the University of London, Covent Garden and the new British Library. We’re also only a short bus ride away from many major the attractions, such as of Madame Tussaud’s and London’s West End, with its many shops, theatres, bars, and restaurants.
I stayed for 3 nights at the St. Athans Hotel. The shared bathroom situation was not a problem for me at any point during my stay. There was a mini sink in my room as well that I used water/teeth brushing. Also there are multiple bathrooms that you have access to. I was pleasantly surprised at the amazing location of the hotel. It is 1 block away from the Russel Street Underground station and definitely a walkable distance to SOHO. I wished that my key card got me into the building but they have a buzzer and the front desk is manned 24 hours a day. I got back one night at 2-2:30am rang the buzzer and someone was there in a few seconds. I have already and will continue to recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent place to stay.

This was a last minute booking,as hubby got ticket for footy at Wembley and was closest to M1 for coming home. Although from London didn't know the area but it was lovely. Full of places to eat and the hotel was really central for everything. They own several buildings so ours was actually in a street 2 minutes away. There was a huge bedroom ,then door to the 2nd bedroom and a ensuite. A couple of things need attention in the room but it was so comfortable and, despite being a large building, really quiet. The parking was free as a Sunday but could be a problem through the week. It was a great price online. Julia, in reception was very helpful and friendly-helped my son and I find the cinema. Communication from them really good . If ever needed to would definitely stay here again. The main building has a seating area with microwave and cutlery that are available to use. Pictures show both rooms and the modern bathroom a bit

Stay here frequently and always a good stay! Aleena on front desk is always very friendly and it's always a pleasure seeing her when I check in. Staff always go out of their way If I need anything! Very close to central and very comfy rooms but it's the staff that make you feel like you're in a home away from home and Aleena is a true credit to travelodge!

Fantastic stay in London. Good central location, charming building and staff, comfortable room and absolutely wonderful breakfast. My kids and I can also heartily recommend the Potion Making add-on which happens only on weekends. We did it the first night we arrived - such a great kick-off to our stay.

Family friendly bed and breakfast offering warm hospitality in an 1850s Victorian Townhouse; situated near Hyde Park and Marble Arch. Just minutes away from Paddington Station. Ideally located close to many famous London sights.
Strongly recommended for families, couples and single guests. Clean, peaceful and affordable. Staff was very cooperative. Best thing which i enjoyed during my stay at Barry's House was morning walk in Hyde park and Breakfast from the Edgware road that too on the walking distance and being nearest to the Paddington station was another plus point.

I chose this place because it was recommended in the Rick Steves guide book. It was a mistake. Our room was the "family room" in the basement. The bathroom fan sounded like an airplane but didn't remove any moisture. That left the room constantly damp and musty. You couldn't open a window since you were below ground level and anyone could see in. There were also no towels racks anywhere. What do you do with 3 wet towels every day? And when you wash your hands how do you dry them if there's no towel by the sink?,There's also no where to sit anything by the sink. Just a free standing sink. There's one very tiny shelf that holds the free toiletries but no place to put your toothbrush or makeup or contact lens case. And speaking of lenses, the drain plug didn't work either so I always worried a contact would go down the drain. Trying to wash something in the sink was impossible. My brother tried to wash a shirt. It sort of worked, but the room was so musty that 3 days later it was still wet after being hung up all that time! And there's no toilet paper holder. When you need toilet paper you need to turn around completely behind you and reach it off the window sill behind the toilet. Also the Wi-Fi was iffy. Sometimes I had to go into the lobby to get it to work. And the hot water was a joke. Usually if you ran the water for about 10 minutes you could get some. But then you couldn't regulate it. It was scalding or freezing. The last 2 days we had no hot water at all. None. Also being in the basement was the worst because the room was directly under the breakfast room. So every morning at 7 you could hear the staff come in. Then at 7:30 when breakfast started you heard all the guest coming and going and pulling and pushing all the chairs. No way to ever sleep past 7:30 if you wanted to. The staff was reasonably friendly and the breakfast was good. It's also in a great location. But I would never stay there again.
