We have stayed in some more expensive, more fancy accommodation on our holiday, but we actually loved staying here. It is simple but very clean. There are fantastic views from the rooftop, our hostess was lovely, so friendly and helpful, and you can't fault the free breakfast. This is a great place to stay.

First of all, I want to mention that the standard room we booked didn’t seem dirty or anything. It was more or less like on the pictures. However, the towels were simply horrible. As a person who travels a lot and has seen over 40 hotels only in Myanmar (expensive hotels as well as budget ones), I consider that it’s showing disregard to your customers when you offer towels like the ones that you can see on my picture. I’m sorry to say that but we’re not dogs to use that kind of towels that obviously need to be changed. Despite the mention on Booking.com that the rooms have toiletries, it actually has only a peace of soap and toilet paper. No shower gel, shampoo or toothbrushes the way it is in 99% of hotels in Myanmar. When we asked about the toothbrushes, we were told that they don’t provide them. To be fair, I have to mention that a staff member came in the evening with the toothbrushes. As you can find it in other reviews, the area is pretty noisy. You can’t sleep because of the dogs barking a few times during the night. The beds are pretty hard and the pillows too big and too hard for us. We decided not to take the “great” breakfast everyone was advertising. I had some coffee (which was only bitter without much aroma) and that was it. The breakfast consists of 2 slices of banana cake, some bread with a piece of sandwich cheese on it and fried rice. The hotel was totally empty, probably because of the Covid-19. Therefore, the atmosphere was depressing. It’s hard to describe but I was happy to leave it. Conclusion: for 15$, you can find much better in Kalaw. You may have to add 2 or 3$ but when you think about your sleep and some minimal comfort, I think it’s better to pay a few dollars more.

Dream Mountain Resort offer high standard hotel facilities, friendly services and good quality of foods with reasonable price.
The hotel is lovely; good, clean rooms and delicious pancakes at breakfast. A staff member drove me to the bus station in the evening for my connection. I honestly can't rate the female owner/manager enough; she assisted me with a very uncomfortable situation where a driver became aggressive. It has been my experience here in Myanmar that the People are incredibly open and friendly and I'm so grateful for her help and diplomacy. Thank you. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Great mountain views from the balconies.

Hotel Mya Yar Pin is located in the heart of Kalaw town an extremely characteristic, quite and lively area within short walk distance to all sites and is surrounded by the Mountain view,City View ,colonial building ,temple ,church and local market. On entering this charming hotel in Kalaw, you will immediately sense its special intimate atmosphere that makes you feel like being in your own house
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We enjoyed the view and the cleanliness of the room. I think this hotel is more suited to business guests than travellers, as I think there are much more authentic places to stay around Kalaw. PROS -The room was clean and it had a nice mountain view - The staff are very friendly -We arrived at 3am and they gave us a temporary bed to sleep until we could check in. CONS -The bed was hard as a rock and only had two pillows. I have slept on a lot of hard beds around Myanmar, but this had to be the worst. -There is currently a building going up in front of the hotel, so expect power tool noise from 8am onwards. -On our last night at the hotel some local guests were fighting. They were screaming, slamming doors and stomping around from 12.30am until 1.30am. We asked the staff about it the next day and they giggled and said the guests wouldn’t pick up the phone so they couldn’t make them stop fighting.

The Accommodation in this Hotel is rather poor by modern standards, badly needs some essential maintenance and modernisation. Not worth the prices charged. Very poor design and lay out of rooms. Bathrooms very poor. No heating provided in the rooms inspite of the very cold temperatures during the winter months

One of the better hotels I’ve stayed in MM for the price. Big spacious rooms and bathroom. Water jug and hair dryer provided in the room. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Good location as well, close to main road and only a few streets over was the trekking info street (we went with Yola Trekking - fantastic choice!).

Hillock Villa is a classic B&B, but nevertheless offers its guests convenient services and amenities such as free WIFI, in-room coffee/tea facility, complementary drinking water and slippers; bike rental, day tours and trekking guides are also on offer. Breakfast, local Shan or continental, is served on the terrace or the sun deck in beautiful view of the surrounding gardens.
It is one of the quiet and peaceful place in kalaw. Mostly, they don’t use plastic things . Breakfast is pretty good. You can get fresh shan traditional food as breakfast. You can walk to Kalaw Clock Tower . Price is fair. It is also good for solo, families, couples and friends.
