Hi, my name is Rocky and i look after the Rocky guesthouse, Hampi which is situated next to Hampi bazar and a 50mtr away from tungabhadra river. We got a well furnished and clean rooms that are situated in the 1st floor, with a nice temple view from the roof top and also the river view. It's good place to do yoga in the roof terrace with a beautiful sunrise. Also you can use a free wifi service.
Rocky was super friendly and available, as was his assistant (we didn't catch his name as he didn't speak much English). We were able to book tours, onward travel and Rocky even helped us actually book an overnight bus back to Bangalore since foreigners can't use foreign cards to book things in India on Indian websites. The guesthouse was clean and comfortable, and right in Hampi Bazaar. Would highly recommend!

Stayed three nights in an upper floor double room with air-conditioning for INR 2,100 per night (room only). Family running the guest house were friendly and helpful, in particular the young man who helped us navigate to the guest house from the Hampi Bazaar Gate and who was always cheerful, happy and smiling. Room was basic but comfortable, beds Ok and typical Indian bathroom facilities. Powerpoint for charging worked Ok however we found out the hard way you could not have the hot water and the air-conditioning on at the same time - otherwise it tripped the power to the a/c. Which then had to be reset by the proprietor who wasn't always there. Also the hot water didn't stay hot for very long. Guest house position is good and you can get good views across Hampi from the top floor. Be aware that the stair access to all rooms is narrow and a touch steep, so mobility impaired people could have some trouble. Also there is no parking for a car here, the lanes are too narrow - try it and your car will be damaged (don't ask us how we know). Slightly costly at this price point, but would stay here again.

Too expensive, bad hotel service. No chairs. Non hygiene rooms and toilets worst. Not even worth for 500 rs. No hot water. No friendly owner. No to advise family to stay here. Instead you have lot more other home stays are there you can go and bargain.

We are a group of 4 female travellers.we visited Hampi from 24-29 November. We stayed at Srinivasa homestay. Srinivasa and his wife Kamala are excellent hosts. Kamala is really a good cook. The south indian food she cooked was very authentic. Rooms and bathrooms were spotlessly clean. Very very good experience.

It's a total rip off. No value for money at all. We were given a soap worth RS 4/- in the name of toiletries. When I asked for toilet paper the lady there says that they give only for foreigners. I paid 3360/- for 2 days nothing was provided. I wasn't even given a receipt. Since I had booked through Booking.com (a big mistake) she says they take their commission and so no receipt. Forget breakfast not even water was provided. Places like this encourage plastic. If they have a water filter and provide water instead of selling bottled water there will be less use of plastic. The room was small and right next to the only window in the room is a toilet and a pump(which makes a racket when switched out) and a water drum. The toilet is used by all. And next to the toilet is an open parking area. There is absolutely no privacy and lots of noise. Hot water is provided only from 7:00AM to 9:30AM and even that is very erratic and flow is very less and added to that the water is warm not hot. They can provide hot/warm water twice a day. That's why it is much too expensive. There are no facilities at all except yes the soap. I feel the place Padma guest house (which is just 2 steps away) is much much better. The room is slightly bigger they provide breakfast and water and all this for just 1000 a day. The view is also much better. It is spacious outside so instead of Ranjana I would highly recommend Padma guest house.
