Really lovely, comfortable room in the Centre of St Andrews. Stayed here last week on a business trip. Room was ideal, lovely decor, super comfy bed, dedicated work area. We selected a room, but there are larger apartments too so perfect for any kind of stay. Nice outdoor space at back of building with seating. I would definitely stay again & can confidently recommend.

16th Century Coaching Inn that has a name for being eclectic. It has won awards for service, great food, wine list, best small music venue in Britain, best small golfing hotel in Scotland, amongst many more. The Bedrooms are very modern in complete contrast to the age of the main house. The food is all locally sourced and has a modern European edge to it.
We stayed here after availing of a special offer from Hotel Breaks for a couple of nights earlier this week. On approach I was a little worried as the outside of the property adjacent to the road looked a little run down. However once we turned the corner into the courtyard and car park we were pleasantly surprised. Upon arrival I was shown a superior suite by Kate., the room was delightful, a super king size bed, en suite with jacuzzi (oh I DO love a jacuzzi so I was already in 7th heaven. ) a very comfortable large room, only downside is a few creaky floorboards and it would be nice to have 1 pillow which wasn’t as full for sleeping. The room had all the required amenities including a coffee machine, 2 comfortable chairs for lounging and enough wardrobes, chest of drawer s etc if you were staying longer. The main reason we had chosen this Inn was because it was the virgin overnight stay in an hotel trip for our cocker spaniel Murphy, boy did he land on his feet. Staff made a fuss of him and he was given his own very cute water bowl for the duration, they even gave us a little container to keep the leftovers we had during out meals so Murphy dined like a king, spare ribs, black pudding, sausage bacon. He may never eat kibble again.?? We were served tea and a scone on arrival by the lovely Hannah who made sure we had all we needed, Jack the manager checked in regularly and we were very comfortable. We dined in the restaurant both evenings as our offer gave £50 per night towards dining. Again we were a little worried thinking this is all lovely but let’s hope the food is good because if it isn’t that would be shame. Well folks, you need not worry, the food was Devine. I wish I had taken photos but we were too busy enjoying the cuisine. Night one I had mushrooms followed by fish pie and ice cream for pudding. All absolutely gorgeous, particularly the fish pie. Hubby had smoked salmon/prawn starter which again was delicious, the icing on the cake for him were the spare ribs (loving ribs in USA they had high standards to match these) and they did. murphy was lucky to get a few morsels later. He finished with sticky toffee pudding and we rounded the evening off with a nightcap in the bar. Murphy joined us for that having had a snooze while we dined in the restaurant. We also were able to order a bottle of wine which Kate kindly kept behind the bar for the 2nd nights meal. Breakfast was served in the bar area in the morning & murphy was able to join us for that. Breakfast was tasty but I think after the indulgences of the day before we weren’t able to do it justice. The Meal on our second night was equally delicious, massive portion of fish and chips and fish cakes for dinner followed by ice cream and the Scottish cranachan sundae. All in all we loved our stay in the Inn, great value, excellent food, lovely surroundings and the staff Jack Kate and Hannah really helped make our stay special. Hats off to the chef, your food is fabulous. And Murphy just loved his 1st doggie break. Thanks a million folks. ????

The Spindrift is an imposing Victorian residence built in 1870 for a Tea Clipper Captain, with many original internal features carefully restored, offering 8 bedrooms with en suite/private facilities. Only a short walk to Anstruther harbour and village centre. The Spindrift is personally run by Mark and Jennifer Carmichael-Green. A relaxed atmosphere prevails and it is our aim to provide you with high standards of service and housekeeping.
What an amazing guest house in walking distance to AnstrutherTown center. If you want to venture further, the bus stop 100 meters away takes you to Crail and Saint Andrews, and the Fife coastal path is across the street! Jeni and Mark are fascinating hosts and go above and beyond to cater to the guest needs and provide helpful hints to navigating the area. The room and bed were very comfortable and the house beautifully maintained. We loved the lounge and honesty bar with wide choices of drinks and great space for relaxation and conversation. (And we had a great conversation with Mark one evening!) This stay was one of the highlights of our 2-week trip. If you are trying to decide where to stay when in the St. Andrews area don't hesitate, book now!

We had a great time at Cleveden House. Betsy was incredibly helpful meeting us at the house late on Friday evening when we arrived (after a delayed long haul trip from South Africa) and arranged to store our 4 suitcases (75kgs) until my daughter's res room was available the following week. Betsy was always ready to assist, whether it be arranging a taxi, or suggesting a dinner spot, or sharing anecdotes about South Africa.

Five Pilmour Place enjoys a unique location. The 18th green of the Old Course is a mere 75 yards away, while a slow two minute walk will take you into the heart of the magnificent historic University town of St Andrews. The architecture and facilities of Five Pilmour Place are a fusion of tradition with contemporary and convenience. This luxurious boutique privately owned guesthouse comprises of seven en-suite bedrooms with spacious guest lounge and dining room.
I had booked a king size bed. I’m 6’4 tall and need to sleep slightly diagonally, even on a king sized bed. What I got was two singles pushed together. Not only are these shorter than a king size but also have a ridge down the middle. The beds were also of poor quality and went flat when sat on. Even Travelodge can manage pocket spring decent king sized beds for as little as £30 a night. Come on guys, we expect more for £150 a night! The room is boutique and looks nice, (garden room) but also has a roof light with no covering and poor blinds on windows. If you struggle to sleep in a light room, don’t book this one. As a result of the bed I had three very sleepless nights and felt truly awful each morning, just eating a bit of toast. Two singles is not an king sized bed! All style and no substance!

The New Inn is a lively local with five contemporary en-suite bedrooms. All rooms have free wifi access, refreshment tray and free view TV. We offer a good selection of home made meals using local produce. A warm welcome is guaranteed at this ideal affordable base for exploring St Andrews. Walking distance to town centre and centrally located for many golf courses.
We stayed in a supposed deluxe double room 1. Toilet didn't flush, two single bed pushed together. Dated furniture but not a dated over night rate of £138 with no breakfast. Check in 4pm check out 10am. No staff on premises from 11pm out 12 mid day after checkout. Terrible customer service since. No response to raised concerns.

Have stayed on 4 separate occasions in last month. Can’t fault the place at all. Great value for money. Highly recommended by myself.

Stayed at the Montague with friends on a golf junket. Great boutique hotel and great location. Raj, our host could not have been more inviting. Very attentive to our needs. Rooms were quaint and clean. Our room was on the 3rd floor and faced the street. Unlike other reviews regarding the coastal bird life, I enjoyed the sounds of the seagulls even at 4am. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at the Montague the next time.

Had a pub lunch here today with friends. Decided on Breaded Hadfock & chips after seeing a delicious looking plate of it served in the bar, we were sitting in the lovely beer garden. imagine my disappointment when my food arrived and it was just a big pile of chip and a piece of haddock. I did ask if I could have some peas with it. And a slice of lemon would have been nice. Here is why I am confused apparently you are not allowed peas if eating outside. This started an hilarious conversation about Pea-gate! Would love to know why peas are not allowed if you eat outside. The dressed crab was beautiful and I would recommend this hotel for food but next time I will eat inside! ?
