Stayed here one night last year and were delighted by the food, the clean, comfortable room and the friendly welcome, so came again this year for two nights. Great welcome from hosts and very enjoyable food. The town is interesting with two small but interesting museums and, with a short tour of surrounding valleys and villages, makes a good day's stay.

La Ferme en Ville is an old mansion surrounded by a private park, just 500 meters from Bernay's picturesque town center and 800 meters from the train station. It was completely renovated in 2013 and transformed into a hostel to accommodate business and leisure stays. The 5 rooms are unique and bear the name of famous Norman towns and villages. A full breakfast is included in the price. Guests can also enjoy a drink or a snack in the Baroque medieval lounge with a large fireplace. Dinner is homemade on the day of your arrival with fresh ingredients and must be booked in advance. We also offer lighter versions of this menu and adapt the price accordingly.
This location was perfect for a quick stop over on route to La Rochelle and break up journey our journey from the UK. Location - about 3 hours south of Calais, so was a good breakpoint for our journey south. 10 mins Walk into town if required where lots of shops/bars Parking - on site parking which was ideal when the car is fully loaded up! Restaurant - Food/wine on the evening was amazing and very impressed. They even had veggie! Breakfast was basic (croissant, cereal, coffee), but OK for what we needed Dogs - Ideal as grounds to walk the dogs. Hosts - Really friendly and made us feel welcome and supported us with our limited French! Rooms - costs reflect the rooms and value for money and ideal for a stop over.

This is a 19th century Norman château with the look of an English manor, located at a gateway to Normandy in a magnificent setting frequently depicted by artists. Sheltered from the world and perched high up on a hill, this cosy residence features rooms with gentle tones giving on top of the three-hectare park adorned by the singing of birds. Fine dining room with traditional beams, warm fireplace and wall panelling. The restaurant is close the wednesday.
The building was beautiful and set in extensive parkland. We appreciated the direction signs in the narrow country lanes as we would no doubt have got lost. Sadly this establishment does not work as a hotel. It was apparently originally a restaurant but the owners decided to convert the rest of the chateau into a Hotel. Sorry, it is not a success. There was just one person apparent on the evening we arrived. He was very pleasant and checked us in easily. He then helped with some of the bags (there was no lift) but since there were four of us this would either take a long time or we were better taking our own bags - especially as somebody else arrived to check in. The same man then was the waiter in the restaurant. Since it was a Wednesday, the restaurant was open only to hotel guests There was a set menu with no choice and it was all rather simple fare - we had the impression that it had been prepared earlier in the day and then just left for the solitary man to dish up and serve. It was nice enough food but a very poor offering for Euros 30 per head. The rooms were poky and not well designed, and not even particularly nicely decorated or furnished. The bathroom was small and inadequate. Breakfast was meagre in variety and quality - indeed there was not much of it. We had to keep asking for things from the little (different) man who again seemed to be the only person working there. And that was when we could find him! Again the price of Euros 14 per head was quite over the top for what we received. The same man checked us out but did not help with our bags down several flights of stairs. We paid well over Euros 200 for dinner bed and breakfast for two and were completely dissatisfied. the management need to severely look at their operation and decide whether they really want to offer this as a hotel.

I had a great stay last weekend and was traveling for a birthday. I decided to upgrade for the suite and it was very comfortable with a small kitchen and lots of room to work and sleep or have quick dinner nicely. The hotel is right in the village which is adorable. The staff was super welcoming, accommodating for check out time and parking. It is super clean and well priced. I would definitely stay there again.

We appreciated the warm welcome after a strenuous cycling day, room 2 is adequate but its adjoining room is somewhat spartan, no chair, no mirror, no bedside table. The bedding is excellent and the shower room is small but adequate. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal, everything very fresh and locally sourced, we loved the fresh, peeled tomatoes with the mozzarella salad, the flageolets melted in our mouths and the profiteroles were perfect. Breakfast was served to our table, all top quality. Thank you both for a memorable stay

The Ferme du Pressoir is a charming old-timbered guest home with its duck pond located in Conteville (Upper Normandy).Situated at 13 km from Honfleur in a quiet environment, you will appreciate its rooms nicely decorated with antique furniture as well as the dinner made with farm products.Furthermore, you could visit the cider press dating from the XVIIth century.
A wonderful scenic farmhouse, lovingly tended by Madame Odile, with peace and quiet, scenic countryside views, a rippling pond, and delicious breakfasts! Very accessible, by car, to all the Pays d'Auge and a delight to return to in the evenings. Merci, Odile!
