Reviewed By eurotripper22Stayed here on a recent Europe trip for 3 nights with my son and brother in law. Just a wonderful, charming boutique hotel. Where do I start? Family owned and operated and their attention to every detail shows up throughout the hotel. Jenny and Dominic were so delightful (and very patient with my rusty German!). More details of our stay follow, but suffice it to say we fell in love with them, their hotel and their city and didn't want to leave! Check-in smooth and were shown to our rooms - nice touch. Jenny was very patient with me over the past two years navigating repeated COVID related schedule changes. Rooms were huge, well appointed and extremely comfortable. Interesting set-up with bathrooms not in a separate room but smoke glass partioned from rest of room. Everything in the room sparkled and we enjoyed the extra seating area in our rooms. Very comfortable, large beds. Wifi signal was good throughout the hotel. Dining room is beautiful and large. The breakfast was amazing and of course Jenny and Dominic attended to our every need. Erfurt itself is a gem. The amazing Altstadt is compact and very walkable. Cathedral and domplatz are wonderful. Several other notable churches and attractions. Great restaurant selection also. Erfurt is a bit off the beaten path for US tourists, but it certainly merits a visit if you want an authentic, small German city experience. If you do, I can't recommend the Hotel Domizil highly enough!

Reviewed By AadjeuitKatwijkI wonder which Pension is number 1 in Erfurt, it must be very, very good to top Altstadtperle. Large room , good bed (boxspring) , good bathroom, everywhere spotless. Friendly and helpfull staff, good and safe parking for my motorbike. And the breakfast..... couldn’t be better. If I ever come back to Erfurt, which a beautifull vibrant city, I would like to stay here again

Wonderful staff
Reviewed By Jean GDue to a train glitch, we were later than we thought in getting there. There was no street number, but the sign on the front of the building is large. The worst part was being given a 3rd floor (4th floor in U.S.terms) room and there were all sorts of apologies since my husband and I both need canes, and he, especially, found the stairs difficult. But, our suitcases were carried up for us and we had a large, airy room. The staff was wonderful, helpful, and went beyond all expectations. There is a restaurant down the street which was very good but otherwise there are few places to eat within 3 or 4 blocks. The room was very clean. The large bathroom has the standard German tub. The separate shower is amusing in that one has to step into what looks like a half size bathtub and then pull the curtain around. It would have been a great place for us except for our lack of foresight in asking for a room on the ground or first floor. Again, it was clean and the staff makes the place worth 4 stars.

Reviewed By Pooja SVery bad experience. Arrived the first day late in the evening and never expected there will be no reception desk at the guest house itself. I tried calling the number from reception desk and could get only an automated response. Not knowing where to go or whom yo contact I ended making a new reservation in another place . Worst experience.

Worst stay in a hotel ever - unfortunately
Reviewed By travel_chris_gI was really disappointed about this hotel. When we arrived we had a very friendly call with the staff, who explained what to do and where to go. So there is nothing bad to say about the staff. But the room was quite horrible. The tiles in the shower were full of black mould. The wallpaper switched off in a corner of the sleeping area and it looked very dirty behind the sofa. Nonetheless I would have stayed there but the slatted Frage of the bed was broken and there were dirty dishes for breakfast and mould at the sausages they served. I was very suprised about all that things because many people recommended the hotel and so I expected everything to be clean and allright, but unfortunately nothing was.

Sehr schade, da die Lage und das Objekt viel Potenzial haben. Womöglich sind ältere Geschäftsmänner mehr die Zielgruppe als Mittdreißiger.
