We stayed with Anne and Warwick a few years ago (2018, unfortunately I am not a regular TripAdvisor user which explains why only writing a review now!). The O'Hara's provided one of the warmest and most delightful stays I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. At the time, Dinner was an option at Mornington House, going by more recent reviews, I am not sure if this is still the case. If it is, then I can heartily recommend partaking in it, as well as breakfast as both are excellent meals. The mealtimes are also a wonderful chance to engage further with the lovely hosts and the charming other guests that fin this hidden gem.

Lough bawn house is a georgian classic house with four bedrooms, two with ensuite
From the moment we arrived Verity made us feel at home. Afternoon tea on arrival - spotless comfortable room with beautiful views of Lough Bane from the windows. Wonderful home cooked food for dinner and breakfast and Verity's local knowledge made for a wonderful stay. Pity we could only stay for 1 night but will definitely be back for a longer stay the next time.

We stayed at Shines Guesthouse for 2 nights, contact-less check in on arrival, the rooms were clean and it is in a nice location, there is a nice seating area with a homely look about it, The only thing is that i think, we should have been informed that the restaurant was closed Monday and Tuesday, other then that is was good

Excellent location just few minutes out of town. We drove but if you are fit maybe you could walk. Parking on site. Carmel very helpful. Great breakfasts and good size bedrooms. We accidentally left an item and Carmel has gone out of her way to have it returned to us.

I cannot say enough good things about our trip to Athlone for my sisters hen party. From the get go, about a year ago, Maureen was a dream to deal with. We had 32 on the hen so a few people stayed in the bnb/townhouse which is very close to the apartments. Food was delivered promptly by Mohammed on the first night. It was yummy. We did an old school sports day on Saturday, a nice walk even for a hangover group. A few people fell into "The Dark Horse" for drinks and food after that and really enjoyed this place too. Taxis, organised by Maureen brought us to the boat for a booze cruise, this was great fun, I think everyone wanted the playlist!!!! Bacchus restaurant was deeeeelicious. The food was quote on quote "not hen party food". It was very tasty. Then onto piano bar where we got some Prosecco and danced the night away! As the organiser, everything was so close to where we were staying, nobody got lost or missing even though there was plenty of alcohol involved!!!! Cannot recommend this enough for a fantastic hen weekend!

We stayed at this lovely B&B excellent place in the countryside, yet only 10 minutes to the wonderful town of Athlone. Amazing Irish breakfast. Well looked after by the lovely owners, who recommended a superb Thai restaurant in Athlone. Thank you Alacoque we had a fabulous time.

Built in the early 19th Century, Lough Bishop is a charming Country House nestling peacefully into a south-facing slope overlooking Bishop's Lough in County Westmeath, Ireland. Lough Bishop provides unique Country House Bed & Breakfast Accommodation owing to its wonderful location in the middle of a working organic farm. Breathtaking scenery in an unspoilt and tranquil setting, amid the rolling farmlands and lakes of Westmeath make Lough Bishop an ideal refuge from the hustle and bustle of modern life. There are family dogs in the background and animals play a large part of life at Lough Bishop House. Following extensive renovation this attractive Georgian Country Farmhouse offers its guests luxurious bed and breakfast accommodations, peaceful surroundings and fine food much of which comes from our own farm, garden and orchard.
This was a highlight of our trip to Ireland. The rooms are comfortable and pretty. The owners were so nice. We felt so at home. The breakfast was amazing! And we even got a tour of the working farm and animals, including a prize bull, rare cows, sheep and two of the cutest dogs. It was hard to leave we had so much fun! It's close to Dublin, but a world away in the quiet countryside. I would recommend this B&B for a great start to a tour of Ireland.
