The Nest is facing the Raliah Mountain Range which boasts of a large forest reserve and dam used for supplying drinking water to Coonoor town. The reservoir and wetland are situated in the upper area with a forest of Acacia, Eucalyptus and some sholas as catchments. You have always dreamt of a special location that has a place in your heart - a gorgeous little home that would pamper you with all the comforts of life. You have always wished for a home-away-from-home without any disturbance that would also be your very own blissful home, amidst planted trees, shrubs and landscaped gardens where you can wake up to the sweet chirping of birds. Reviewed By surojitsilA beautiful place surrounded by green hills. A quiet pleasant locality. Surrounded by full bloom garden. A very welcoming and helpful staffs. A place to read and be lazy . Some really nice cafe in 15- 20 min drive. You need your transport to commute. I would recommend for those who love to laze and take a peaceful break .

Reviewed By SusantaKumarDeOur cab dropped us to this homestay on the hill slope 2-3 km away from city jostle. Deluxe room is the one- nice n spacious. Facilities with kitchen n food serving on order are excellent. Caretaker with family live in the courtyard to cater to guests 24hrs and its pretty well maintained.

The property features five guest rooms, a shared lounge, a balcony overlooking the Nilgiris hills and a lush lawn. It has a flexible configuration and different suites can be rented separately and jointly without compromise.

But surprisingly they provide neither tea nor coffee , not even green tea or black tea. Property is not well maintained , smelly bathrooms , no fans , no ventilation in the rooms, very stuffy Plus we come for some peace and quiet but couldn't sleep a wink because of staff incessant chatter, sound of vessels being washed, with kitchen being very close to rooms. Wouldn't recommend at all

Dingy place to stay
Reviewed By seemau26The location is not in the main tourist ( pretty) part of coonoor. The home stay is located in a barren area with no view. The pictures are decieving for sure. The reviews also dont match the place at all. The property plot is quite small and not much area to sit out. The rooms are dingy and carpets are stained and room get no sunlight and have no view. Often the hot water is not available . it comes and goes. We took a shower with luke warm water except 1st evening. The rating and review does not match the actual place and services. The only good thing about the property is the staff and the food. Very courteous staff and v good breakfast. The host was helpfull and courteous. We had made a booking for 4 days buy checked out in 2 days

It was a perfect New Year’s Eve with a bon fire and all!! Moin is really wonderful host and took care of everything. The food by Mahalaxmi was excellent. I highly recommend it and will definitely go again!!

Reviewed By Paridhi24Well maintained rooms, spacious bathrooms and awesome location. Place is very beautiful surrounded by garden and tea gardens. There are some 3-4 bedrooms. Staff is very polite and helpful. They cooked wonderful food for us even at 10pm in the night. The owner is also very helpful. She co ordinated on phone.

Completely organic and freshly made - just need to order one meal-time ahead! The quaint old fire-places are sadly no longer usable, to comply with safety requirements,.The entire facility has been updated with modern appliances and free wi-fi which is a blessing, these days. If you are lucky, you get to see a family of bison grazing at a lower level. There are also nocturnal visits by deer and bears. Wild boars also pass by!. Security is excellent with guards and video surveillance around the clock. The manager takes personal interest and works extended hours to ensure guest satisfaction in great detail. Altogether, a great, value-added customer experience!

Reviewed By mksriniWe visited the Runnymede Guest house on the 13th and 14th of August 2017.We're 4 adults and 3 kids (aged 17,13 and 10 respectively ). The biggest plus with the Runnymede guest house is it's location. The property is located right off the Coonoor main road ( 3kms from Coonoor town and 20 kms from Ooty). The bungalow in situated in the Glendale tea estate. We could get a breathtaking view of the surrounding hills covered with tea plantations. And the lawn attached to the bungalow provided a perfect playground for the kids and the adults alike. The highlight of our stay was the food. The cook cum Care taker Mr.Sekar's a wonderful host. You could rest assured of his spectacular culinary skills which kept us in blissful delight throughout our stay. The food was very simple but the hospitality with which it's getting presented just makes it amazing. But the property is not for people who look for resort like amenities with glossy interiors. People who want to spend time with nature (we had the privilege of glancing at a wild goat and plenty birds ) and their loved ones would enjoy their stay in Runnymede guest house to the fullest. The cost was Rs.4000 per room per day and food bill would be the actual cost of grocery and vegetables for the duration of your stay. Overall , it's a great value for money. Regards, Muthukrishnan
