Though probably best known as the capital of West Germany from 1949 to 1990 (and of reunified Germany until 1999), Bonn actually has a history dating back to the 1st century BC. Roman soldiers were stationed here and the largest known Roman fort was built at Bonn. In medieval times, the town gained prominence when the Archbishop of Cologne transferred his seat to Bonn. The city's most famous son is Ludwig van Beethoven, born in 1770 at Bonngasse, where a museum now honors him.

The completely renovated hotel offers well-equipped rooms and Apartments. Behind a historic facade very quiet nights are guaranteed. In the morning a delicious breakfast buffet with organic products is offered. SAT HDTV, Blu-Ray player, wireless and DSL are free. Garage spaces are located directly at the hotel.
Checking in wasn't a very good experience, the gentleman at the reception was not very friendly. He did not give us alot of information. The next day a lady receptionist, Marion came and she was very helpful and charming. We got to meet her daughter too who is equally knowledgeable and ready to give advice and recommendations since we were new in the area. They are fluent in English so communication was easy. The hotel is at a nice location, walking distance to the city center. There are alot of shopping facilities and beautiful parks just a few minutes away from the hotel. The kitchennete is well equipped. It comes with a neespresso machine which is a huge plus. The room is not cleaned daily, I wish it was. Make a point of having a burger next door....epic.

Nice hotel on outskirts of city with well-marked signs leading to the hotel. We had a newly renovated room with balcony overlooking play area. Very clean, friendly hosts. Only bad comments are easy to fix: Need to have WRITTEN instructions in English, German, whatever...on HOW TO GET TO THE CITY OF BONN. Not everyone knows this, and it is just a short walk to the bus and Sbahn stop; however, let us know which side of the road and which number to take to get to the center of town. Also, the Breakfast (0700-0900) was not refreshed until I asked for more eggs, more cheese...meat platter was also empty. It was only 0820 and it was already majorly empty. They need to be "on it" and have enough rolls, etc. for all the guests. Most guests were coming down at 0815 and it was really bare. Please be a little more generous with fruit, rolls, platters, etc.. or don't do breakfast at all.

Introductory Informations & Context: - I stayed in the Brauhotel Bonn for one day in a 6 bed dormitory: Pros: - The location: The hotel lies right in the city-centre which makes it possible to get to all the important destinations by foot. -The hygiene: The bathroom is very clean and in the dorms with multiple beds, measures are taken to insure that each guest has his clean bed, removing potential for conflict. The dorm itself was also clean. -The aesthetic of the hotel: The reception and the the rooms themselves are neatly furnitured and decorated in a way that gives personality to the hotel, contrasting the more soulless looking modern hotels. -The price: At around 27€ per night, the price is pretty cheap for a hotel in the city-centre. -The staff: The staff is polite and kind. Cons: - The beds: As I am pretty tall at 1 meter 90, the beds in the dorm were slightly too small for me, so I had to restort to sleeping with bent knees. The mattress was also pretty uncomfortable, which lead to me waking up with lower back pain. -The shower I had had almost no water pressure, to a point where it was somewhat difficult to wash my hair. Conclusion: The bed and shower problems aside, the stay at the BrauHotel Bonn was enjoyable with a very reasonable price. If I would return to Bonn, I would probably return there.

I stayed there last weekend. It's a nice place to stay but the receptionist was not good. While checking in as well check out, she was behaving rudely. I checked out well before (more than one and half hour) but she said "give the keys......everybody has returned it". And normally also her behaviour was not soft as one can expect while checking in in a hotel.

Spent two comfortable nights here and found it an excellent base for Bonn and Bad Godesberg. There is a good regular cheap bus service (with a stop very close to the hotel) which took us quickly into the city. We had a friendly welcome and plenty of useful information about restaurants, the city sights and transport etc. We thoroughly enjoyed the excellent breakfast and found the hotel very reasonably priced.

This place is a little away from the centre but our room was lovely and the bathroom roomy and spotless. We also had the excellent breakfast, served in the basement. You have to advise the owners/management when you arrive and they then come and let you in and welcome you to the hotel. Very good parking at the hotel.
