We stayed for one night on New Years Eve on route back from Erg Chegaga to Marrakech. We intended to walk around Agdz, but after several days in the desert climbing up and down dunes, the comfortable sun loungers and beds at Dar Qamar’s poolside meant we did not leave the grounds! There were plenty of things to keep the children entertained, with resident peacocks and beautiful gardens. The staff were very friendly but did not speak much English. We used a mixture of French and English to arrange meal plans for the children. Dinner was wonderful, a real feast for New Year’s Eve! I also enjoyed breakfast - there was a hob with boiling water to cook our own soft/hard boiled eggs. The room was comfortable with a heater and hot showers. The WiFi was really good and even supported a Happy New Year what’s app call to the grandparents! The WiFi was strong enough to reach the rooms too. We ended up staying for lunch at poolside on New Year’s Day before reluctantly leaving Dar Qamar! Would definitely stay again!

Is like stepping into paradise, a beautiful authentic home. From moment we arrived we were welcomed with smiles and of course tea. The guesthouse is beautifully decorated, so colourful with a nice warm ambience. Areas around the home in the garden set up for relaxing and enjoying the sounds of nature. Harmony of birds as enjoyed morning coffee almost had me wanting to never leave. The owners were very attentive. We had a dish called Seffa Medfouna for dinner, saffron chicken buried within broken vermicelli sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar…unique flavours and delicious. There was also soup to start and dessert to finish, all was fantastic but the main dish was definitely the hero. Rooms clean and very comfortable, good quality beds. Shower hot and good pressure. Definitely the choice of stay in Agdz, was a home away from home.

The accommodation and its host are part of an association for ecotourism. Therefore, the owner Abdullah offers tours into the Drâa valley to show the beautiful nature and how the inhabitants are using it to produce goods. Abdullah is very nice, friendly and also very helpful. He is open to answer every question that arises. We asked him questions about plants we have seen on our way through the valley to question we had about Islam and how he is living with his religion. The food we had with Abdullah was very delicious and a lot. There were always three courses. The room was simple with basic equipment, but offered all the we needed.

This place was recommended as a stopover to the desert, but because it was already too cold (for the little kids) to go to the desert by the time we arrived, we decided to still go to Azul as way of getting out of Marrakech. We stayed two nights because the drive from the city is long enough where you don't want to do it two days in a row. I had low expectations but we ended up loving our time there. Sylvie and Nasser were extremely friendly and accommodating. The woman who runs the place went above and beyond to make us happy. We took a tour of the nearby kasbahs and it was a great experience for us and the kids. Beautiful place and friendly people. We'll definitely try to go back again one day. I strongly endorse this place, especially for families.

Dar Sofar is a real guest house where you will feel at home but also well looked after. Our will is to adapt to your wishes and to offer you a relaxing stay that allows you to enjoy the region at your own pace.
this place is a treasure find There are only 4 rooms here - we took 3, and stayed here for 2 nights. The host was amazing- he came over to check on us regularly to make sure we were taken care of without being overly intrusive He provided lots of valuable tips and information about things to do around the area including the visit to nearby water source, villages, walk around oasis and hike up to the top for nice sun rise views He also shared lots of interesting stories with us and served us personally for our meals. We had 2 dinners at this place - the tétines and couscous were good. The pool was a nice refreshing dip after a hike. Point to note this place doesn’t serve alcohol.

Dar Amazir is a gest house with swiming pool in agdez 60km from ouarzazate
I had a relaxing stay here - it was a lovely room and a beautiful place to stay. Their rooftop terrace offers a gorgeous view. Their restaurant had great food and they were also one of the few places I stayed outside major cities where alcohol was available to go with dinner, which was nice. I had an issue with Expedia when I booked this place - I think they’ve now taken themselves off the Expedia listings so I don’t think this problem will happen again in future. Just in case though - don’t use Expedia to book here, instead using either booking.com or just reach out to book directly.

We spent two glorious nights at Mathilde’s ecolodge and loved every minute. Despite being very busy and short-staffed because of Ramadan, Mathilde was an exceedingly gracious host, spending considerable time showing us the beautiful grounds and telling us about the wonderful places to visit in the area.

A beautiful traditional berber Kasbah in the heart of old Tamnougalt. 3 double bedrooms all with access to a hot shower. Breakfast is served in the salon or on the terrace facing the palmery. The rooftop terrace has spectacular panoramic views of the Draa valley; watch the sunrise or sleep under the stars!
Kasbah Maktob is a lovely tiny exotic pension in an old renovated Kasbah, with a lovely view onto the gardens in the Dar valley, and a very friendly host, Mustafa. The oasis of Tamnougalt is a great place to unwind, and the terrace of the Kasbah is a great place to hang out. The floor inside the Kasbah is covered with hundreds of carpets and has a very special atmosphere. Mustafa and his team are also great cooks, and we had some excellent meals here. Disclaimer: Rooms and baths are clean, but don’t expect European standards. You will share bathrooms with other guests on your floor. The doors of the rooms only lock from the inside. The Kasbah also does not have a private garden, and you’ll hand out with other guests on the terrace rather having your own private sunbed somewhere in a quiet corner. So if you prefer a western standard spacious room, your own shower and a private sunbed at a pool, this place might not be for you. However, our time at the Kasbah was probably the highlight of our trip through Morocco, and I would definitely stay here again, if I’d be in the area.
