Wineglass Bay

We hiked to the lookout, then hiked down to the beach. It states 1.5 hrs return from lookout, but going down took 30-40 minutes as it is down hill. Once you get to the beach, it is absolutely beautiful. We spent some time relaxing there, you can walk along the water, spend as long as you want, even go for a swim! Toilets are located here also. You can continue to the Hazards beach or walk back up to the top. Beware, this is strenuous, 1000 steps back up. We stopped few times to rest as we are only moderately fit. But it was all worth it. Must do if you can.

What a stunning area of natural beauty We drove first to the Gardens which has a look out and some walking trails so you can get close to the red rocks for photo opportunities It gets a bit windy along this coast so bring a jumper. Beautiful scenery with the contrast of the red rocks with the white sand and deep blue sea. We then drove back to Bingalong for some more photo opportunities

on our trip up the east coast in January of this year, we stopped at Binalong Bay and the Bay of Fires before our overnight stay in St Helens. the rocks at Bay of Fires are beautiful, with the "fire coloured" algae on the rocks. also lovely to see all the protected birds nesting and feeding here. luckily it was a sunny day as it was VERY VERY windy!

This one-day walk takes in part of the famous South Coast Track, beginning at the small town of Cockle Creek. Visitors observe native plants and birds as they cross coastal heathland, enjoy ocean views and gaze out over the expanse of the Southern Ocean imagining the distance between themselves and the nearest landmass of Antarctica.
