The 10 Best Beaches in Majorca, Balearic Islands

October 4, 2021 Marlin Saiz

The dreamy island that provided inspiration to Chopin and Miró now has a reputation as a spring break beach destination. Don't worry, though, if you're vacationing over elementary school spring break-- there's plenty for the younger crowd. Marineland's dolphin and sea lion shows and children's beach attract families. And if you have a Thomas-obsessed toddler, the antique train that travels between Palma and Soller is a must-see.

Platja Des Coll Baix

Parked at the end car park (not the first one) and took 20-30 minutes to walk down and around 30 minutes to walk back. Most of the path was OK - rocky and uneven - but the last part was a scramble over the rocks. Couple of tricky parts (especially if you don't like heights!) but really worth it. Take water and wear good shoes and the sea and views are stunning.

Playa de Muro Beach

I went to Playa de Muro Beach looking for a calm beach with fine sand for my 2 year old to play. This beach is really perfect for this. It has nice fine sand, calm sea, life guards and umbrellas rental. There are no restaurants on the beach, but you will find many options to eat (restaurants and markets) 1 block away. If you want to rent an umbrella (& lounges) I recommend going to the beach early in order to do so. The umbrella will be reserved for you the entire day, so you can go back to your hotel and return later. There is also a safe on the umbrella! So dont be afraid of leaving your values while you go for a swim. The sea is clean and very calm. You will see small fishes swimming around your feet. Just wonderfull!

Absolutely gorgeous beach. You will find numerous reviews on how to get there. It does involve a walk, and then a mountainous walk (not very long). The path down is steep and requires some consideration and careful walking, but it is worth it. Watch the tides if you want to lie on the sand. If high tide you will be sitting on rocks which aren't particularly comfortable. It gets busy too. A popular spot, well worth the trouble of getting to. We read a few reviews about it being a nudist spot. Not when we were there.

Best beach I’d seen on Mallorca. Beatiful white sand, crystal clear water, and the most important thing, the beach is very quiet and peaceful, due to the almost empty beach. You need to park your car in the city. The walk to the beach through two another crowded beaches is very enjoyable, about 20 minutes. Highly recommened! Unforgetable moments!

Loved this beach! Really stunning crystal clear waters which was amazing for snorkelling we saw lots of fish! Be aware of jellyfish though! Lifeguards were on duty which was good. Parasols / sun beds / safe for a charge - we didn’t mind as want some shade and the safe was really helpful when going into the sea! The guys who run the sunbed hire were really nice. There is a little bar that serves drinks and was reasonable. Definitely go here for snorkelling!
