Enjoy an upscale cocktail experience where you can find golden age cocktails with a modern twist.
This is a must-try spot for drinks. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, the bar is well stocked, and the atmosphere itself is worth the price of a drink. So the artisanal ingredients and quality booze are just icing on the cake. They do a very nice job of the Prohibition-era speakeasy vibe. Be prepared to stand in line on a busy night: it's not a big place. Consider going mid-week.

Tetto, The Piccolo's 1,500-square-foot rooftop bar, is the first and only one of its kind in downtown Paso Robles. Tetto features a full craft cocktail bar, alfresco bar seating, comfortable lounge areas, and inviting fire pits - all tucked beneath the shade of a covered trellis. Open to the public.

Love this place. The cleaned up Merrimaker is even better. I'm so glad they did minimum to update this classic bar. The bathrooms are by far the biggest improvement. Same layout, same basic look and feel, but better. It made me feel like I was up in the mountains while grabbing a pint and hanging out with friends. Classic dive bar with warm welcoming people next to the beach, what more could you want?

The Lone Prince of SLOdippo goes on yet another SLO-dipitous journey. In dire need of liquid sustenance, we selected the discount store. After gazing upon a selection of fermented liquids, one caught the eye. It was not only made with local apples, but hailed from some craftsmen in the Quiet Village of Atascadero town. A singular sip & snort from the humble squat brown bottle made one's senses tingle. Savoring every drop of this golden brew, one could only wonder how to somehow find more. It was far easier than finding a blind lame camel in a far off land and involved a net thrown over the nearby lands north of us. As I cautiously & rather skeptically approached, the master of Cider magic revealed himself, as Cody the Cider King. Cody the Cider King was both kind and wise. Never before did I know what magical creations can be done with the variety of local Apples, amazing skill, & various scents & colors that one could barely guess at. One brew was more amazing and magical than the next. One would have guess that one pinkish brew involved some berries, but Cody the Cider King kindly redirected me to think more creatively. Indeed, it involved red beets, fennel, & numerous apples. Some brews involved sweeter apple varieties and some involved those on the more sour side. Some involved hard spirits, like whiskey, and some were aged in the old barrels that used to make them. I then headed home, with my precious new Ciders tucked carefully in the trunk of my Camel-less Conveyance.
