Brisbane”s iconic City Cats (river ferries) delivered us to New Farm Park and we enjoyed a stroll through the magnificent gardens on our way to the Brisbane Powerhouse. There are 2 options for meals/drinks at the Powerhouse and after looking at menus in both places, opted for a light bite at Bar Alto overlooking the Brisbane River. Food is delicious and exquisitely presented, even though we had chosen Bar Food (which we could either eat outside overlooking the water, or inside the building where we found the noise level a little distracting.) There is also a fully blown restaurant inside, with an extensive menu for those hungrier than we were! Two of us shared Beetroot and Goats Cheese Arancini w Basil Pesto ($10), Fritti Di Baccala (creamy salt cod croquettes w Aioli ($9) and a bowl of the most delicious Chips ($9). The restaurant is ideal for meals or snacks throughout the day, and with performances, concerts etc happening at the Powerhouse daily, as well as the proximity of the extensive gardens in New Farm Park which attracts masses of visitors, what better place to relax and recharge! Staff were lovely and this is an experience to be repeated.

This is the bar I want to give my money to whenever I go out: The cocktails taste delicious, the bartenders know their cocktails, the customer service is friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere is chilled, and the music always hits the mark. Side note: The owner of the bar is a top-notch bloke. Thank you for setting up this delightful bar and keeping it running through this covid season of economic hardship. I appreciate it. P.S. Go on a Wednesday night and you will catch their $10 classic cocktail menu. Cocktails on a budget? Yes, please!

The Pink Flamingo Spiegelclub is the ultimate entertainment destination. Our debut show SUAVÉ delivers mind-blowing acrobatics, daring aerial feats, laugh out loud comedy, unbelievable cirque acts, singing, dancing and a splash of saucy scandal. The slick show is available Tuesday, Friday & Saturday with various showtimes. Once the show is over the fun doesn't stop - our late night lounge is an adults-only plush playground with mini-shows & roving performances throughout from 10:30 pm . It's the afterparty you've always wanted to be invited to!!

In 1925, the renowned hotel entrepreneur James (Jim) Cavill arrived on the scene and created the legendary Surfers Paradise Hotel. Over the decades we have evolved into one of the Gold Coast's most iconic venues; a home for locals, visitors, and the heart and soul of Surfers. The Beer Garden we know and love has been resurrected, with a fresh and inspired new design. Watch all your favourite sports. Play Games. Socialise. People watch on Cavill Avenue. All with a cold beer or cocktail in hand, and the best food the Gold Coast has to offer. Open daily from 11am.

Called in here after visiting Paronella Park. We were warmly welcomed by the publican and barmaid. Unfortunately for them the place was emphatic 1am on a Sunday (another victim of covid- although it was raining heavily). The open verandas were cool and a good place to enjoy the country views. The menus were professionally presented and the menu was good classy pub food. We had the homemade beef pies. Steak sandwich and calamari salad. The food was professionally presented and delicious. Highly recommended stop if you are in the area

We've been practicing good hospitality since 1926 and we're just getting better at it! We are most famous for our Crocodile themed decor including Crocodile Artifacts, old photo's as well as plenty of Historical information dating back to the 1920's. Our hand-crafted wooden Crocodile Bar has had many tourist heads inside it, you've got to come in and see it to believe it! We offer a FREE Function Room, Pub Restaurant & Accommodation Facilities, as well as having hosted some of Cairns biggest LIVE ACTS! So get down to The Grand Hotel some time where we're LIVE, LOUD & PROUD all the time! We're a proudly locally owned and operated business, so come and support us and stop by for a cold beer soon! Follow us on Facebook for all the latest Gigs, Events, Parties or just whats on!
We were not intending to have lunch there, just a cold drink. We decided to have their $10.00 lunch: Steak, Chips & coleslaw (choice of Normal Gravy, Dianne Sauce or Pepper Gravy). Cost was $38.50 for a pint of Northern and a Piccalo of wine. Staff very friendly and helpful. We would recommend this pub. We will be back, for sure.
