Rome wasn't built in a day--and you'll need much more than a day to take in this timeless city. The city is a real-life collage of piazzas, open-air markets, and astonishing historic sites. Toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain, contemplate the Colosseum and the Pantheon, and sample a perfect espresso or gelato before spending an afternoon shopping at the Campo de’Fiori or Via Veneto. Enjoy some of the most memorable meals of your life here, too, from fresh pasta to succulent fried artichokes or a tender oxtail stew.

The H-lab cocktail bar in the Howtan Space Art Gallery is a lounge bar and convivial place to meet in the creative atmosphere of the gallery. A parlour in the heart of Rome, but far from its frantic pace, in an environment where even design can be daring. A versatile and unusual lounge bar that interacts with its surroundings in a completely new way.

Tried another well reviewed place for coffee on our first day in Rome and it was fine. But as this was close by and we had been here once on our last visit to Rome we tried it again. Ended up having coffee here on our last three mornings. 3.80 euros for two cappuccinos and two pastries which was very reasonable. They are quite businesslike here and there isn’t much time for chitchat but they tolerate tourists like me who mangle their beautiful language. Of course their English is good enough that I didn’t need to try Italian but they were very nice about it. No charge for table service either which is nice as there is my much space at the bar when it’s busy.

Drink The Art Gallery is a cocktail bar that recreates the 1930s atmosphere of American pubs; there are great cocktails, many fine spirits, the best German and Belgian beers and fine wines to be sipped in front of works of art and vintage objects that make the gallery unique.
