Fantastic food in a gorgeous pub. The staff were amazing and couldn’t be more helpful. Our hostess was friendly and fun. A real people person. Bar staff were lovely too. All three ladies made our stay a welcome one. Gorgeous flavour in the hot beef sandwich. We will definitely be back. Pint of Smithwicks went down a treat too. Just class full stop. Next time we come and visit KIlkenny we will definitely come back.

DeBarras is a third generation family run Traditional Irish Pub & restaurant famous the world over for its Folk Club & musical associations with Noel Redding (the jimi Hendrix Experience) & Christy Moore. Within its well worn walls you will find authentic musical memorabilia from all over the world.
We've been to this area many times but this time came specifically for the guitar festival. This is a great pub which from entering on the street seems to go on for miles. The music was great and the service was good. It was packed with music lovers, and we visited several times over the weekend.

Ceili by the Lee is a traditional Irish social gathering. It's hard to be all things to all people, but we try our best: whether you want to learn to dance in the old Irish style, get fit, make new friends, or simply have the craic we have you covered! Combining the hectic energy of a party in an ocean liner steerage with the nostalgia of a Gaeltacht days fado, this is an activity that won't disappoint! Come along from 8, and the MC will show how they used to do in old Ireland. Neither aptitude nor experience is required, as the Messrs O'Toole are renowned for turning two left feet into a matching pair. Mondays at 19:30 in Crane Lane on Phoenix Street Admission €5 Check FB for more info!
A great experience the few times I went! Each week starts with the basic steps, which is great for people like me that need a lot of practice. But it's never boring because of the enthusiasm of the instructor and the different dances every week.

"Serving the people of cork since 1849" Costigan's Traditional Irish pub is without doubt one of Cork's oldest and finest pubs, nestled in the heart of Washington Street, Cork City. What began as a Fish Mongers, then became a coach house and years later a sweet shop, it blossomed into the charming pub that it is today. Through the centuries it has retained its Irish character. It is an old style public house with its long bar counter, snug and parlour area; not to mention the open fire and heated beer garden. With an extensive local whiskey and gin selection from Cork and the rest of Ireland, Costigan's Traditional Irish Pub is the perfect setting to enjoy a drink or two. Costigan's stunning individual architecture provides the ideal atmosphere to enjoy one of Ireland's most traditional pubs. Céad Míle Fáilte!
Have visted a few times on random occasions, always get a good pint of Guinness. Non-pretentious & friendly attitude from those behind the bar. Would recommend for a drink on quiet or busy nights. There's a lovely sitting area down the back for a small group, & the smoking area while small, is accessible from both sides.

I had a very enjoyable evening here and the folk session was outstanding.Located on the outskirts of Cobh it had a great charisma. Often referred to as "The First and Last" it is one of the oldest bars in Cobh.

I Went to Malzards Pub with Trafalgar as part of group outing. Fred and his family were absolutely amazing and so welcoming and it was a night full of laughs and fun! Best pub, with great people and amazing live music by the local talent. Fred taught us the basics of hurling and even let us get behind the bar. This is a wonderful family run Pub that is upto the 5th generation of Fred’s family. Its off the beaten path if you want to get away from the busy main cities and an absolute must if you are in Ireland!! It will be a night that will always be remembered!

We went for a large group event which utilised the large back room and later a smaller bar that showed a screening of a short film. The spaces were all different but the staff were consistently friendly & helpful. The front bar area had a buzz to it and wasn't too rowdy for a Friday night. It's a little bit of a walk back to the main shopping area - so you may prefer a short taxi ride to walking in the autumn/winter.

Really enjoyed our pints we had here. Spent some time with owner, think his name was Liam, great guy. Really cares about keeping the old style pub atmosphere alive. It’s also the oldest pub in Kilkenny I believe which is cool.
