We are distant relatives of Anna and family from the O'Heffernan and O'Dowd families. While in the U.S. Navy I was stationed in England from 1989-1991 and visited Ireland. From 1998-2000 I was stationed in Italy and visited Ireland. Both these visits were on tour buses and I convinced the guides to stop at the pub. In 2004 my wife and I honeymooned in Ireland for 11 days. We had bed and breakfast vouchers and traveled from Galway down the west coast. The ladies always took great care of us when we visited. Anna always made her Irish Flag shot. While there for our honeymoon Anna disappeared upstairs and came back to present us with an Irish Tea Towel. If you're in the area stop in, you won't regret your visit. I just took a few virtual tours of Ireland while enjoying a pint of Guinness, Just one LOL... Cheers, Kirk Towner

Old fashioned traditional Irish music pub dating back to 1895, rich in tradition and culture with a lovely atmosphere. Music every Friday and Saturday during the winter and every Wednesday Friday Saturday and Sunday during the summer, Famous for its trad sessions with some of Ireland finest having played here. Friels is a listed building a still has some of the old structural fittings in place which is worth seeing.
Hidden Gem in Milltown Malbay. Great pub all round. Cosy with natural fire, very friendly staff, lovely pints of Guinness, topped off with trad session.

Nestled in the heart of Ennistymon, Cooley's House or Cooley's as its more commonly known is a warm, welcoming family run pub. It's the ideal place to come and enjoy some traditional Irish music (every Wednesday and Friday nights), a nice fire and a drink or two. A tourist favourite, traditional Irish Coffee's are Cooley's speciality, the perfect complement to a local trad session!
This was absolutely the most fun I have ever had in a pub in my life! the family environment with Joan and Pat was like taking a little piece of Ireland home with me in my memories. Joan is such a wonderful woman she looked out for us like a mama bear and provided safety that we needed as 3 women traveling alone getting home. We can’t wait to come back and visit again. You MUST go visit Cooley’s ????????????????????????

We spent a lovely few hours here last night. The landlady invited the men behind the bar to investigate the whiskey selection...which was superb. The Guinness was creamy and unfortunately very "moreish" ???? We sampled some fabulous whiskey from their selection and enjoyed the genuine olde worlde atmosphere. We'll be back.
