Jogja National Museum

Reviewed By AbuKalabsha - Indiana, United States

Went there for Art Jog event. This is a museum of modern art and the exhibition included provocative pieces from international and Indonesian artists. Of course this is much more modest museum than MOMA and others like it, but I enjoyed it just as much because it contains living art that reflects the artists' take on the here and now of Indonesia. We had a hard time finding a taxi when leaving so we asked the young men and women working at the bookstore for advice about where to find a cab. Instead, they whipped out their phones and used an app to get us one to the museum door and walked us to it with a smile! Indonesians, in the aggregate, are some of the nicest people I've met. These young folks were even more sweet and lovable than most. A big virtual hug to all of them!
