Constant Companion and I have acquired a few pieces of Lladro over he years. We took photographs of these and the signatures on them. We hoped to get some additional information about them at the factory and we were were not disappointed! The Lladro factory is outside Valencia in an industrial park. It is a taxi ride from city center and there are not any attractions nearby! Furthermore, you must email to arrange your visit and tour weeks prior to you visit! Note that photographs are not permitted inside the factory, just in the showroom. We arrived at security around 15:30 and were met by our contact and tour guide Ana Monrabal, who was absolutely fantastic throughout!! Ana took us step by step through the time consuming process and even allowed us to speak with some of the ladies, who are artisans there. Turns out one of the artists knows the person who made our ballerina and advised us to hold on to it! We loved this visit to one of the premier makers of fine porcelain in the world and could not leave without a small purchase, but be advised that there is no pressure at all to buy anything!!
