High in the cool hills, this colonial gem of cobblestone streets and picturesque churches inspires artists with its color, character and light. Baroque, neoclassical and neogothic mix in the city's buildings, notably at the pink stone 18th-century church on the Plaza Principal. Founded in 1542, the city is a mix of Hispanic and Mesoamerican influences.

The Bordello Galeria and Workshop Space is so named because it is located in the main sala of Madam Turca's "Casa de la Noche" where notorious "ladies of the evening" once made their living. The Galeria has been created to support local and visiting artists needing single event reception space. For workshops, it’s also an ideal space for end-of-class exhibits. With a 150 linear feet of exhibition walls, the Bordello Galeria venue offers a state-of-the-art hanging system, rheostat spot lighting, and an open welcoming space, split level, near the center of town.

We've moved! As of February 1st, 2021, San Miguel de Allende's Premier gallery of Fine-Art photography has moved to Galeria Izamal, Jesus 25, Zona Centro. Friendly and inviting, this gallery features the beautiful and collectable works of international photographer, Ted Davis. Explore San Miguel with the new book 'Eternal San Miguel de Allende'! Over 300 brilliant photographs of the hidden splendors of this magical town.
This gallery presents fine art photos that are mostly of San Miguel, but go beyond the usual views, focusing more on the people. He also has some classically-inspired still lives like the one that caught my eye when I stopped into the gallery. It looked like a Dutch still life, but with tropical fruits, some of them starting to rot. Could not get it out of my mind, so I emailed the gallery and arranged to buy a print. They shipped it promptly and very well packaged. It is a very large print and makes quite a statement in my condo in Chicago. I think It is about cultural change and perhaps about the beauty of things that are beyond their prime.

Jane Dill is a terrific art teacher with infectious enthusiasm for her craft and her students. In her two day workshop, Mixed Media snd Photography, i learned many new and useful tools for making (abstract) art. Her method of printing and integrating photographs into a painting is brilliant and life changing! I would highly recommend her workshop for beginners as well as experienced artists.

Arte DiVino a Mexican art Gallery that has the permanent art work of Isabel Garfias and furniture and decorations of Juan Carlos de la Rosa.
We are lucky enough to frequent San Miguel de Allende at least twice a year and each visits starts with a visit to Amalia and her gallery Arte Divino. She has a beautiful collection of sculptures, paintings and pottery that are so beautiful and fit many different aesthetics. We live in a very modern home in the US and have had fun filling it with great eclectic pieces (that don't look typical Mexican") and the shipping has been so easy and cost effective. We have also commissioned many furniture pieces from her artisans. It's really a wonderful place.

A beautiful gallery in San Miguel, Juan Zaragoza is dedicated to paint all beauty he sees in town and sourrandings. Mostly landscapes and city scenes. Juan has severals awards for his amazing work. His work is all around the globe. Come visit and you will have a beautiful experience of peace, love and explotion of color through Juan's paintings.
You must visit Juan's Gallery. He is an incredible artist using vibrant colors in a very special style! We went with friends who had bought paintings from Juan and we were immediately blown away by his art and how willing he was to work with you on what you would like. If he doesn't have what you want, he can work with you to create pieces specifically to your tastes. He did that for us and we couldn't be happier with the results! He and his wife are extremely friendly, great listeners and really great people.
