This is a great store. Artists display their work from all over US. I visit each time I vacation in the area. Love seeing all the different handmade items. From dishes, serving pieces, jewelry, gift items, and food items, etc. Ladies are always friendly and helpful.

This was our second visit to the area and we are glad we came back to see the museum again. To say its a powerful exhibit would be an understatement. It’s free to visit (though donations are always welcome) and the volunteers are very helpful. Pam gave us a short tour of the museum and then let us explore at our leisure. They are adding new exhibits as time and funding allow. The latest addition is an oral history video using cell phone photos/videos and interviews with locals who were in the area for Katrina’s impact. I wouldn’t say this would be an ideal place to bring little kids but there is a park that shares the same parking lot so it could be a win win for families traveling with little ones.

We invite you to enjoy all that makes our museum unique: the artists, the architecture, the history, and the landscape. The Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art celebrates the innovative, independent, and creative spirit of our namesake, Mississippi master potter George Ohr - "The Mad Potter of Biloxi." In a fitting tribute to Ohr, artist and architect Frank Gehry designed an award winning campus of bold, intriguing, and self sufficient structures. These buildings and the exhibits therein offer visitors separate but not isolated experiences - together creating a single unified vision connected by the expansive brick plaza and the majestic Live Oaks. Just have one day? Come see art exhibits that exemplify the creative spirit of George Ohr and the Southeastern US. Stay a bit longer and enjoy taking ceramics classes in our expansive ceramics studio. Stay for good and become a member to experience all that the museum has to offer - including events that enrich and educate our coastal community.
We were greeted as we got off the bus by some lovely ladies and they walked us to the pottery workshop. After the potter explained what we were to do and HOW to make it so it didn’t explode we were left alone to create a masterpiece. We were provided with 5 or 6 colors and were informed to put it on thick but nothing on the bottom but your name. We listened to the history of George Ohr, who was rather eccentric, but he was a master at what he did. We went into the pods to see different artists and I went up to the treehouse to see the Gulf of Mexico. One month later my husband I went and picked up our very cute pots!
