As first time visitors we were excited to explore Eugene and chose Studio West as one of our first stops. The drive to the studio alone is amazing, it’s grand country side with a clear view of the Cascade mountains and main route to the best wineries was an unexpected benefit. Once off the main road it was a treat to see the wilderness at its best, ducks; deer; sheep; horse farms and more! We were surprise and happy to feel the tranquility of open farm land and its colorful fields. My friends from the city couldn’t stop wowing how beautiful the drive was. We weren’t even to the studio location and we all agreed we had made the right choice. Easy to find and a warm welcome from the owners felt like we had made it home greeted by chickens; ducks; doggies a great chalet home nestled in the woods. Excited to start the glass blowing, Ciara & Alex were informative and caring, sincerely wanting us to have a personalized and great experience. Indeed it was! Truely creative and comitted to their love of art was felt by their professionalism, patience and positive attitude. Studio West exceeded our expectations and the experience we had is still the main highlite we talk about to our family and friends. Can’t wait for our next visit!

I just love this gallery. Their specialty is Asian art: paintings, sculpture, ceramics, and jewelry. Yes, the prices can be high, but their collection is the real thing. On the other hand, it's not too difficult to come away with something priced lower. Just amble around. The woman who runs the gallery is so nice, and is always ready to offer assistance. Living in Eugene as I do, I have had the luxury of just walking through and admiring the new arrivals. I've also splurged once or twice. But this gallery is worth it. If you love Asian art, don't pass this gallery up.

It's unbelievable what you can find at this museum on the University of Oregon campus. It's like a set of samples from top-notch museums all over the world. You can bump into an extensive Asian collection, Renaissance art, classic 20th century photography, avant-garde latin-american artists, and constantly changing high-end exhibits: statues by Ai Weiwei, a Botticelli, a Picasso, a Van Gogh, with several deep and wonderfully curated exhibits. Really more than you can see in a day. And a nice café!
