When wandering around the lovely village of Chemainus, we came across Cinder & Sea. The owner, and extremely talented artist, Nicholas McMaster greeted us as we admired his enormous brown bear for which he is carving tiny pieces of wood to simulate the bear’s fur. We were drawn into the shop to examine all of his works...artistic, sculpture, dioramas, and so much more. Nicholas explained his technique in each piece. We would love to have bought out the whole shop. Nicholas must be an inspiration to not only other artists and those who love collecting fine art in their homes, but also to young people looking for an artistic enterprise,or guidance in their endeavours. You will be amazed at Nicholas’s fantastic works

Victoria Ballet once again provided an excellent exhibition of modern ballet which they incorporated to the themes of rock history. What’s next from their amazing choreographer ? This is a gem of a modern facility, as the ballet company say themselves, ‘The best and largest stage on Island’. Highly recommended, that is, after I purchase my tickets first !
