Built in the first century AD, this is one of the best conserved Roman amphitheatres, whose seating area is made up of 44 levels and can hold up to 22,000 spectators.
If you are lucky enough to be in Verona during opera season and have any appreciation for the arts or architecture tickets are a must. Feel the majesty of watching a world class opera in an ancient arena. Feel more like a local bring a pillow pad for your sitting pleasure. Whatever show you are going to see be prepared to be throughly entranced, between the colorful array of costume detail, set design and shear vocal talent, you no doubt will be blown away. The arena will transport you to another time as the sun goes down and the players songs and dance burn into your memories with passion and fire.

Home to Venezia FC, Venice's professional soccer team. We are only open on match day and do not currently offer tours. For schedule and tickets, please visit out website.
When I found out that our trip to Venice coincided with a Venezia home game I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to go and see it. When playing in Serie B they use the stadium at the far end of the Island and it’s a good excuse to see this often missed area beyond the Arsenale. It was initially a bit tricky to get tickets - they can’t be bought online and various google searches resulted in wasted trips to tourist information offices that couldn’t help (the office at the station couldn’t print the tickets, St Marks no longer did them but eventually we found the tourist office at Piazzale Roma (near bus station/car park) did sell them - only to find we needed our passports to buy them. We eventually got our hands on two tickets - only €22 with a ladies ticket discounted to €16. You can also buy them from a kiosk near the the stadium on match day but that is subject to availability. My wife was initially a bit nervous about going especially when she saw the Ultra fans marching to the stadium in full voice and setting off flares. However, if you buy tickets for the long stands (ie not behind either goal) you will be seated with families and older people rather than the hard core ultra fans and it feels very safe. The stadium is small, only holding around 6000 fans but the atmosphere was good with the home and away fans singing and chanting for the whole 90 minutes. The stands are exposed to the elements so be prepared accordingly and take your ID with you to the game to get entry. Not quite the San Siro but a great experience for any football fan and their understanding partners.
