Built in the first century AD, this is one of the best conserved Roman amphitheatres, whose seating area is made up of 44 levels and can hold up to 22,000 spectators.
If you are lucky enough to be in Verona during opera season and have any appreciation for the arts or architecture tickets are a must. Feel the majesty of watching a world class opera in an ancient arena. Feel more like a local bring a pillow pad for your sitting pleasure. Whatever show you are going to see be prepared to be throughly entranced, between the colorful array of costume detail, set design and shear vocal talent, you no doubt will be blown away. The arena will transport you to another time as the sun goes down and the players songs and dance burn into your memories with passion and fire.

The Old Olympic Stadium in Athens Greece, built of granite in late 19th century on the site of ancient Athens from the 4th Century; hosted the first modern games in1896.
If you’re in Athens and have an hour or two to spare we would highly recommend this site. It is within moderate walking distance or couple of bus stops from the city centre and a very peaceful place to wander round, soak in some Olympic history and even run round the track or stand atop the podium if you like. The audio tour included and both informative and well planned, guiding you round the stadium at a leisurely pace and to the Olympic museum that includes a flame from every olympics! Views are amazing and we enjoyed our visit very much.

This gigantic stadium is the largest soccer stadium in Europe, with a seating capacity of 100,000
Wonderful experience. You get to see the team museum, trophy room and history stuff from old t-shirts to a 1901 trophy. The tour covers also the locker rooms and a visit to the press room. You also get the opportunity to see the stadium from inside the VIP panoramic seets which is quite spectacular.

Very impressive building and a most interesting place to visit. We had the place totally to ourselves so didn't have the hustle and bustle like the colosseum that we visited the previous week. A worthwhile place and a hidden gem.

We combined the tour of the stadium with a visit to the museum and we all did enjoy the both. The stadium is pretty new and very well maintained which, of course, is understandable when we talk about such a great club as Juventus. Our guide was very knowledgeable and was giving a lot of information about the history of the club and its present events. Although the tour group was quite big and the guide was talking in Italian and English, he was able and patient to answer all the questions. Prior to starting the tour, we watched a 2-3 minutes 3D movie about Juventus and its most memorable matches for which we had to pay a couple of euros more. The tour included the grandstand, the pitch, the dressing rooms, the press room, etc. After the stadium tour we went to the museum and finally to the store for some outfits and souvenirs. Would be awesome to visit a match here one day.....

I attended the Udinese-SPAL game with the away fans, several of whom said that this is the best, or at least one of the best, stadiums in Italy. Very compact (you feel very near the pitch) yet with excellent views from all four stands. The stadium is extremely modern (rebuilt in 2016) and everything is impeccably organised (large car parks, refreshments, plenty of helpful stewards, etc.) including catering for away fans who have a separate car park. If coming from outside Udine, the stadium & it's convenient parking is near the motorway exit. I took the train and then a match day shuttle bus from the station to the ground.

What is interesting besides the structure is that this coliseum is older than Rome's and the Gladitorial Academy is across the street from it. We saw both the Gladitory entrance as well as where the wild animals would enter.
