Very impressive building and a most interesting place to visit. We had the place totally to ourselves so didn't have the hustle and bustle like the colosseum that we visited the previous week. A worthwhile place and a hidden gem.

What is interesting besides the structure is that this coliseum is older than Rome's and the Gladitorial Academy is across the street from it. We saw both the Gladitory entrance as well as where the wild animals would enter.

If you want to see what loyalty and support to a local football team is all about, come and witness and Serie A match here in Stadio San Paolo. Home ground to the Napoli football team, the fans here are so passionate about football and how the chanting and song sung by the supports are just out of this world. The stadium is slightly old but the atmosphere is electrifying. Diego Armando Maradona is still highly revered here and you can see his jerseys and flags being displayed here each time there is a match. It is just awesome.
