Experience the ancient traditions of Chinese landscaping with the majestic home of the Lin family. A pond, square pavilion and ornamental plants such as cypress, plum and bamboo adorn the majestic garden. Each Chinese New Year there is a chrysanthemum exhibit.
I had a few hours to spare when last in Taipei so I visited the Lin family mansion and this used to be one of the major landmarks in its hey day. Lovely gardens and paths with classical old residences. I wouldn't say its drop dead impressive but glad I visited all the same. There is an NT$80 (US$2.50) entry fee. To get there get of the MRT at Fuzhong station (Blue line station6). Walk along Fuzhong road and turn right on Wenchang road then left at Ximen street. The mansion is only a minute walk from there. In closing I also liked the fact that the crowds were small and the few that were there can easily be avoided as the grounds are quite large. Hope this helps.

dedicated to Paosheng Tati, the God of Medicine
We visited this temple after visiting the Confucious temple nearby. The temple looks old with intricate carvings and ornaments on the roof. Many people prayed here and it was fairly smoky due to the many burning joss sticks.

Taipei 101 was once the tallest building in the world. From the Observatory you can see most of northern Taiwan, it's quite spectacular -- it's still the tallest building in Taiwan. Take your time to look around. By the way, the elevator will whisk you from the ground level to the top in a matteer of minutes.

I loved the architecture of this theatre. It's a very stunning example of modern architecture in Taiwan and it makes fun to walk around an discover all the details. The expanse of water on the front is also nice for taking photos with reflections of the building. You can go inside and walk on your own through the public places of the theater – and it looks nearly more interesting from the inside. Don't forget to visit the roof-top! You have good views to the surrounding high-rise buildings.

I found this library because it’s illuminated so beautiful. This library has 5th floor and theater on the top floor. Well designed for visitors、easy to find categories. many desks, clean and quiet. And open until 22 o’clock midnight. Kaohsiung residents are happy to have such excellent library.
