Novosibirsk Oblast (Russian: Новосиби́рская о́бласть, Novosibirskaya oblast) is a federal subject of Russia (an oblast) located in southwestern Siberia. Its administrative and economic center is the city of Novosibirsk. The population was 2,665,911 as of the 2010 Census.

Pobeda cinema is situated in Novosibirsk city centre. Pobeda is one of the largest Novosibirsk cinemas. It is the scene for many glitzy film premieres. Film buffs visiting Pobeda can enjoy a feast of cinematic delights from the latest blockbusters to the best in classics. Pobeda houses a number of large screens with the latest in surround sound and exquisite interior reflecting the combination of the Modern era and Soviet past. Pobeda is one of the oldest cinemas in the city. It was closed in the late 90's and reopened in 2006 after extensive refurbishment. Its reputation and location gives it the priceless flexibility of being able to handle specialist films or more major films by established directors. Bruno Dumont, Christian Vincent, Emir Kusturica, Nikita Mikhalkov, Alla Surikova, Andrei Zvyagintsev were the guests of the Cinema. The following cultural events have taken place in the Pobeda cinema. The retrospective of the films from the classic German intellectual cinema Rainer Fassbinder; the premier of the film "Novaya Zemlya" (Terra Nova) with Konstantin Lavronenko; the French Film Festivals with French actors such as Carole Bouquet, Melanie Bernier, Valerie Meyers, Louise Manot, and French directors Jaques Audiard, Jean-Paul Liliefeld, Bruno Podalydes, Frederic Auburtin and Michel Azanavichus coming to the festivals to present their films. The acting master-class with the coach of “The Bejart Ballet Lausanne” Azarii Plisetskii; the premier of the film “The Hot News” presented by Sam Klebanov; the weeks of Japanese and Italian cinema; the first night in Russia for the film “Kanikuli strogogo rezhima”(High Security Vacation)presented by a famous Russian actor Sergei Bezrukov and one of the most popular and beloved directors in Russia Vladimir Menshov who is known as the first Russian Academy Award (Oscar) winning film director. The premier of “Juri’s Day” and the meeting with director Kirill Serebrennikov; the Korean Film Festival; the premier of “The Banishment” and “New-York, I Love You” that were presented by director Andrei Zvyagintsev; a master-class by Alexander Petrov, a Russian animator and animation director who received the Academy Award for Animated Short Film; the premiere of “The Black Sun” and the retrospective of the Polish director Krzysztov Zanussi’s films; the Israel Film Festival; the program of short films “Future Shorts”.
Cinema Pobeda is one of the few places that show movies in their original language. Overall it’s comfortable and people seem to be more polite and not make much noise compared to some other cinemas. Will visit again/ 10
