Designed by architect Julien Destrée, the Old Stock Exchange (circa 1653) is a magnificent example of the Flemish baroque style.
Marvelous building dominating the main square of the old city. Amazing architecture and details, both on exterior and in the courtyard.

When we were in Lille we came out with this church that was located just next door to where we stayed on rue Nationale... the inside was amazing and it is worth to visit - gives great pictures

Situated close to the city and accessible by foot from the centre this old army citadel now houses the NATO rapid reaction force of the army and has been there since the 18th century. The moat/canal has a delightful walk around the exterior, zoo and park. Group visits can be obtained with a weeks notice inside the walls.

This is an admiral piece of work. And it dominates the area as you arrive in Lille, even if you arrive from the Lille Europe train station and walk your way into the city. Check this place out whether your train arrives or departs from here because it’s very cool. Inside is clean, safe and there’s plenty of shops inside too. Well worth a visit.
