I booked this tour online and paid €60. When I arrived at the port I saw the same trip was €40 if bought there. I paid an additional 50%for the privilege of booking online!!! Also I had to pay an additional €2.50 City tax which wasn't notified. I contacted the company and they said it was tour operator costs - no refund. They said no one had complained before - I find that really hard to believe. Unless you like throwing your money away I'd suggest waiting until you get to the port. The trip itself is enjoyable and the islands are lovely. Under covid they, naturally can't provide snorkeling equipment but definitely bring your own. So worth it. Lunch was pasta with tinned tomato and slice of melon. Bottled water was a plastic cup with lunch. A good day out if you can get past the rip off.

A highly recommended destination and tour. Our guide, Sergio, was great. He brought the 2,000 year old artifacts to life with knowledge, charm and enthusiasm. We also appreciated his flexibility, accomodating a last minute change in timing when we were delayed in departing from Palermo.

Ortygia is the historical and religious centre of Syracuse. Is a small island joined to the mainland by a couple of bridges. When is possible, I like to offers also tastings of typical Sicilian food, like Modica’s chocolate, cheeses and charcuterie, at the Local Market or shops in Ortygia. Is also possible to have lunch together, at a Restaurant or at the Market with Sicilian cheeses, cold cuts, sun dried tomatoes and other traditional food.

We love Noto. This was our second visit however this time we went for the Christmas holidays. The weather was temperate and comfortable and the tourists were at a minimum. Good for us! It is such a charming and manageable town. We elected to stay right in town to minimize car travel and that was the best decision. Great restaurants and of course, Cafe Sicilia for almond granita. Easy side trips to Siracusa, Modica and Ragusa too.

Guided tour of the roman Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina town in Sicily, one of the most precious jewels left by the Roman civilization in Sicily. The villa, built in the III-IV a.d. it probably belonged to Valerio Massimiano, a powerful patrician of the empire. Since 1997 it has become a UNESCO world heritage, especially for the beauty of its mosaics, famous all over the world. The domus with its 48 rooms is built around the quadrangular peristyle which is accessed from the vestibule. The peristyle floor is entirely mosaic with drawings of European and African animals while the garden is enriched by a large fountain composed of three pools, covered in marble on the outside and in mosaic inside. Tour included the visit of the room with the ten girls in bikinis portrayed in various sports: throwing the disc, playing with the ball, exercises with weights and cross country and, later, the Basilica with the polychrome marble floors

Grazie Letizia for taking me to all the best food places in Ortigia on this tour. I was grateful Letizia honoured the booking as my private guide as no one else had signed up that day. You will eat a ton of food and just getting to the front of the queue at Caseificio Borderi is worth the cost of the tour alone :) Don’t miss this tour!

We were not sure if we would manage it, but we practiced on electric scooters in our city and it was ok. We even managed to drive with our child standing in front of the driving person. The ground in Valle dei Templi is rough though, so the ride is not very smooth. Once we had to turn into a very narrow passage, which was a bit too difficult. If you are afraid, you may turn off the scooter for a while in such places and push it instead of riding it. Ask the guide about this option. The guide told us interesting stories about the site, which made our visit much more interesting. Somehow we did not go to see the goats at the end, which was supposed to be included in the tour. We forgot about it while we were there and than we were sorry about it (especially our child).
