Coimbra is a complete city because it brings together the ancient of the modern, the youth of the opposite of culture, religion and sport, in Coimbra nothing or almost nothing is missing. Always lively and active because the almost 30 thousand students who live in it do not let the pace of those who tend to fall asleep in the shadows of the famous churches slow down. The gastronomy is excellent with several typical dishes and regional sweets where the Santa Clara pastries stand out, this city has a rich historical, architectural and cultural heritage at its disposal, they are a precious common collection of Humanity, now recognized by UNESCO, Coimbra is land as a student but more than that, it is a land of traditions where the past and the future intersect, which have more charm at the time of the farewell. Held in our company, on this tour in a comfortable and 100% flexible way.

Inclusions: Private guide and accompaniment to all monuments, Private transportation, Air-conditioned vehicle, Pick up and drop off in the accommodation, Compulsory insurance, Clean and Safe Certificate

We went with Aventuras Forte-s to the Serra de Brasfemes with the goal to find fossils. Not only we found them, but Sergio, who is so passionate about it, came with some rare samples to show us (and carried them just to educate us) ;-) But it is finally Fatima, our second tour guide, who found most of the fossils (and offered them to us). We could not hope for more, one guide with historical details and the other guide with sharp eyes to find plenty of them. This was a wonderful experience, that we can only recommend if you are in the Coimbra area. We cannot wait to do a new adventure with them in the near future. Thanks again.

This city is a multicolored collage of buildings spanning nearly a millennium. Visit the city center, explore narrow streets that hide love stories of thousands of students, see gardens, convents, and monasteries. Listen to the scary metallic notes of the Portuguese guitar and the deep voices of singers of fado. We had booked this trip months ago and were not sure what to expect. It was expected to be a small group and really lucked out when it turned out to be just the 2 of us!. We had the best driver Celso Araujo with his very confortable BMW and our very knowledgeable, polite and professional guide Gonzalo Murta. Celso was very cautious of the road as he drove us while Gonzalo gave us a very detailed history of how Portugal came to be throughout the years of wars and conquests, very impressive!. He really knew his stuff. Once in Porto we had of course a porto wine tasting which was included in our tour and it was really very interesting. Afterwards we had lunch in a typical Portuguese restaurant(delicious) and then on to a 50 minutes river cruise also included in our tour. We walked the town as Gonzalo pointed out most of its landmarks, did some souvenir shopping and returned to the car which Celso had at the ready!. This was a very pleasant, informative and enjoyable tour. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to spend a great day in Porto. Hopefully you too luck out and get to meet Gonzalo and Celso!. They were amazing!!. ????????

In this adventure, you can get to know these various archaeological sites and understand the meaning and functions of each grave along this interpretive circuit. However, despite the archaeological interest being high, we can not fail to mention that the landscape value is also of great importance. Finally, we will visit the Manuel Soares de Albergaria Museum and the Aristides de Sousa Mendes House, defender of the Jews during World War II.

8. Jewish History of Coimbra PRIVATE TOUR

Largo da Portagem, 3000-201 Coimbra, Portugal GOwalksportugal

This is an exclusive of ours, product of continuous research of our guides and city archaeologists through the years! During this guided tour we will walk you through the memories of Jewish Coimbra. The first signs of the Jewish presence in Coimbra date back to the 10th Century, signaled by the transaction of land properties in a nearby village. We know that later, during the rule of D. Afonso Henriques, some guarantees and lands were granted to this community, which expanded through all the Portuguese territory up to the 16th century. More than just buildings or material testimonies of the Jewish presence, this is a tour about the rich history and culture of this community.

Fabiana gave us a tour around the main parts of the Baixa and Alta (except the cathedrals), and taught us many facts about the city of Coimbra that we didn't know, especially student and university related. We missed a bit more depth of the historical facts and general city history, and also felt the 2h guide could be more structured (I think we could have gone through the same amount of info in 30 minutes less). If they improve the historical depth of the tour, I would definitely increase the rating, as Fabiana was super friendly and nice, and it was great visiting the city with her.

Very poor, waited 2 hours for a bus this morning none arrived. So fed up with the service by this evening we took a taxi back to the hotel. You could buy a ticket with this company or instead take 30 euros from your wallet and set fire to it - the latter is less stressful
