On the journey towards Motovun we stopped in beautiful Istrian village of Sveti Petar u Šumi ( St. Peter's in the Forest ). The place was created on the site of an old Benedictine monastery, later a Pauline one. In the 17th century it was an important cultural center. The center of the village is dominated by the church of St. Peter and Paul completed and consecrated in 1755. The inside of the church is beautiful. The Church has a high quality, well-preserved late Baroque inventory. In the center of the village there is a Pauline monastery with stone walls surrounded by a garden and a large square in front of the church and monasteries and buildings of the municipality. The famous Sausage Festival is organized in St. Peter's in the Forest, with a rich gastronomic offer. It is definitely worth a visit.

The Arena in Pula is a 1st-century Roman amphitheatre. The arena is the 6th largest in the world.
The most important monument in the city of Pula, located in its center. Currently used for summer events and shows, the arena was built in the 1st century from limestone used for gladiator fights and continues to delight us even today.

The most interesting in underground watter tank (huge!) that still collects watter. Name means 'twin towns' and the other one is on the other side of fjord. But almost notehing left of it.

If you walk up to the fort and walk round the back (without going in) you can get a good view of the theatre which is currently closed. It’s worth the effort. I did notice one person scrambling down to get a better view but there’s no need as the birds eye view from the top gives a great sense of the size

We were recommended to visit the peninsular by the hotel reps, and were not disappointed. The site of a former Roman settlement the remains have been enhanced to show what was on the site. It took us around 1½ hours to walk round at a leisurely pace - ideal for a morning/afternoon stroll
